I would imagine most of them are not great. I think I’ve seen three

Rogue nation was the best IMO

2 is campy greatness and I will die on this hill. There is motorcycle jousting. Doves fly through a doorway before tom cruise enter in slo mo. The opening rock climbing scene with the iconic exploding sunglasses. This movie is amazing.

2 is the worst but still fun

3 was a exactly what the franchise needed to turn it around.

It was not a bad movie. It was a FUN blockbuster that did extremely well because people loved it.

Saw M:I2 in theaters as a kid and had the cd soundtrack so i will always think of it fondly.
The flamenco heist scene was great. There is a lot of 2000 john woo-ness that might not have aged great but it was, and still is, a fun movie.

That’s because it was made in AU

We wouldn’t have Tom Crooze without this film.

Sure its the worst of the 8, a bit campy and all but I think its fun. Definitely not a bad movie.

I think we can all agree Philip Seymour Hoffman was the best villain in all of the Mission Impossible movies.

I watched this movie all the time when dvd players were a thing.

Rewatched them all recently and MI2 isn’t really that bad. It’s perfectly fine and has some decent stuff in it – like the actual espionage, covertly watching the villains, grabbing the data at the racecourse etc. Felt more like a spy movie than other entries. It’s my least favourite but it’s fine.
I’ll say Ghost Protocol is overrated and could be a worse film. They spend a lot of time in that Dubai hotel, setting up the meetings, having the meetings etc. The film feels like it’s just starting for a long time and then suddenly we’re already two thirds of the way through without much to show for it.
I think it’s better than MI2 – love the chase through the sandstorm and the new team are great together – but I wouldn’t say it’s that much better.

I honestly think that part two is better than the most recent one that just came out

Hey it was better than 7

PSH is what saved the entire franchise. … there is nothing to debate about this fact.

I still feel that 2 was the reason the franchise is known internationally today..it had superb visuals, stunts and the music. John Woo should have been so much bigger in hollywood

Mission Impossible 2 isn’t just bad. It’s Batman and Robin levels bad and I’m tired of pretending it’s not. The difference is that Batman and Robin kind of knows it dumb.
To further the analogy, Mission Impossible 3 is the Batman Begins of the series. A lower budget, back to basics reset of sorts.
Both are brilliant recoveries of a franchise that looked like they were dead in the water.

I honestly just love the full series of MI movies truth be told. Loved every one of them and I keep watching them. I finished the last one and I loved it all, genuinely a fun series of movies to enjoy!

Best thing was the Metallica and limp bizkit songs. I rest my case.

Compared to mi7 and 8, the second outing is a masterpiece.
