Well there you have it. Democrats caught lying again.
That means when benefits disappear you know who’s responsible, Democrats.
Not that anyone can’t read the actual budget or anything.
Oh man. I see where this is going
DVO is scum and an embarrassment to the state of Wisconsin. Insurrectionists don’t belong in congress. Wow what a hot take… for some people.
„The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command…”
Another lying liar doing what he does best.
The headline is supporting the lie. This makes the HuffPost complicit in the lie. Reporters HAVE TO DO BETTER about reporting the truth IN THE HEADLINE. Because by just quoting the liar in the headline you are serving the lie. You are spreading the lie. INTERROGATE THE LIE IN THE HEADLINE.
„We are too cowardly to explicitly cut Medicaid food benefits, so we cut the funds to the agency that ultimately funds these benefits and lie about the cuts.“ – Republicans
Then the Congressman voted for something he didn’t read, or just skimmed through….
Sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up you drunk asshole.
Somebody can’t read
86 this fool
Vote this fascist prick out of our US elections
This is easily verifiable
The bill
https://www.congress.gov/119/bills/hr1/BILLS-119hr1rh.pdf
Page 21 I think……food stamps
Utilities allowance for those receiving utilities assistance…….is amended by inserting “with an elderly or disabled member” after households.
(From how that read….my understanding is…)Basically even though assistance doesn’t mean free, maybe just flat $50/mo….this means, unless there’s a disabled or elderly member of the household, the individual can’t reduce their after bills income by their utilities unless they pay in full themselves.
Also then next (page 22) it discounts internet service fees,
“including monthly subscriber fees(ie the base rate paid by the household each month to receive service, which may include high-speed internet)”
So the way food stamps works is A, approved….(you make under the gross, you get food stamps) then amount is based on your food money left after bills. If you make 1000 but spent 900 you’ll get max, if your bills are just your phone you’ll get $5.
They are reducing allowed exceptions so your “food available” cash after bills is artificially higher, reducing the food stamps you get (probably by $20 a month at least)….
But there’s no cuts, and certainly not right at the start after the index…..nope….
H. R. 1, 119th Congress.
Everyone can download the bill and read it for themselves.
Whopper of a lie, voters enabled him, make accountability a thing again Wisconsin.
Let me help you with that headline in 2025, a literal decade after you should know better:
*GOP Congressman wrongly claims Trump’s tax bill doesn’t cut any Medicaid, Food Benefits, says Democrats are „lying“ when in fact the sweeping GOP plan does cut $1 trillion from federal health and food programs.*
See how that works? The only difference is you are *informing your readers of the objective facts*. It’s not „bias“ to state the truth. That is basic journalism 101.
Continuing to do this is why no one reads your paper/mag/rag.
Insurrectionists don’t belong in congress. Take the mic away
I understand the barrier here is reading, but this guy knows anyone can read this bill for themselves and see what’s in it, right?
“Don’t look up.”
Obviously he hasn’t even read his own bill!! TAKE that gop WERIDO & 86 the administration
He and the rest if them are fucking liars, pedophiles, rapists, racists and just terrible fucking humans.
I’m going to guess his constituents are low information voters that take whatever they hear from him at face value and he exploits that for his own political gain. Which I realize basically describes any R congresscritter.
time to install a policy of instant removal from office, incarceration pending investigation, and total forfeiture of personal wealth and properties on all public servants that lie or misinform the American people … be they local, state or federal employees of any and all positions/ careers
they would never agree to the above, thats why it would work
they are our employees … not our fuckin masters … treat them as such by any and all means necessary
Pretty sure he didn’t read a word of the bill. He just goes by what he is told. Maybe a view of one of his staffers who failed 3rd grade reading.
Does he not realize we can read?
Okay democrats,
Get him on record, read the section of the bill to him, and then yield the remainder of your time to have him explain how it doesn’t.
Then clip that and post it everywhere, alongside of other fascist leaders lying (hitler, gobbles, Joseph McCarthy, whichever).
The people who don’t pay attention aren’t seeing the level of dishonesty being displayed. Hold them to it, clip it, and then send it to every major podcast and radio station. Do this every single time. Social media is the platform that enabled right wing extremists into the public sphere. FLOOD THE ZONE with truth.
There’s three options here:
1. He’s so cynical he has no problem lying right to your face. He shouldn’t be anywhere near the levers of power.
2. He’s so dumb he has no idea what’s in the bill. He shouldn’t be anywhere near the levers of power.
3. He’s so stupid that he believes whatever bullshit is on NewsMax, OAN, KKKaroline’s ‚fact‘ sheet, or out of fuckface’s fuck face. He shouldn’t be anywhere near the levers of power.
Please let me know what you think.
As a veteran myself. This man disgusts me and is an embarrassment to the state of Wisconsin. He represents so much that is wrong with this country.
There’s a reason the text of the bill wasn’t released until a few hours before the House voted on it.
1. Judicial Enforcement Restrictions: The bill *limits federal courts from enforcing contempt citations against government officials who defy court orders* unless a plaintiff posts a bond. This could hinder courts‘ ability to hold the executive branch accountable.
2. AI Regulation Moratorium: A ten-year ban on state and local regulation of artificial intelligence, particularly in elections, is included. *This raises concerns about misinformation and voter manipulation.*
3. Medicaid and SNAP Cuts: The bill imposes stricter work requirements for Medicaid recipients aged 19–64 and caps home equity limits for Medicaid long-term care eligibility at $1 million. It also *cuts SNAP benefits by $300 billion* over 10 years.
4. Tax Provisions: While it eliminates taxes on tips and overtime and enhances the standard deduction for seniors, it notably omits eliminating Social Security benefit taxes.
5. Defense and Border Security Spending: The bill allocates $46.5 billion for border wall construction and deportation efforts, aiming to remove 1 million immigrants annually. It also funds Trump’s missile defense initiative with $25 billion and bolsters defense spending overall with $150 billion.
6. Student Loan and Education Changes: Major reforms to student loans *restrict existing repayment plans* and raise taxes on some university endowments.
7. Environmental Rollbacks: The bill enables more drilling and sales of public lands, reversing Biden-era conservation policies.
Not to mention that there’s a provision in there that allocates funds and secret service protections *to all of Trump’s residences.*
I urge all of you to CALL AND EMAIL YOUR SENATORS, even on this holiday weekend, and let them know that passing this bill is a disaster and absolutely unacceptable.
„Thousands of people in his district rely on SNAP benefits, too. The GOP tax bill puts about 8,000 adults in Van Orden’s district at risk of losing all food assistance, and about 16,000 people at risk of losing at least some food benefits, [per an analysis](https://www.cbpp.org/research/food-assistance/expanded-work-requirements-in-house-republican-bill-would-take-away-food) by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. These figures include thousands of people who live with school-aged children.“
what a dickhead.
The headline should indicate that Rep. Van Orden is, in fact, lying.
The bill is online. You can copy paste the text into ChatGPT and it will tell you exactly what’s in there. Democrats are not lying.
Mine were already cut no notice, last month. Disabled epileptic here.
Motherfucker, I can read.
Whaddaya know, another GOP lying liar telling lies.
If only some profession – maybe tied to the mass media? I dunno – had the ability to find out and „report“ if these statements are true or not
Personally, I think that elected representatives and appointed department heads should be considered to be under oath when they are making statements to the public that are meant to be trustworthy. That is to say, egregious lies should be considered punishable acts of perjury.
Perhaps some kind of indicator that they are speaking unofficially is necessary. They all seem to like wearing that damn flag pin, except I think now it’s been replaced by a gun or a profile of the Fuhrer, And so whenever they are wearing such regalia, or maybe even whenever they are within a certain distance of the capitol building, they should be obliged to tell the truth.
The same should apply to published material by their offices, or statements made on their official websites.
Just like Democrats were lying about Project 2025 being the plan for Republicans…oh wait…
Just like every other time the Democrats „lied“ about something that ended up being true
Hey, why don’t they just read all the stipulations of the bill out lout, on public tv, for the masses then? Oh, right, they held a secret 1 AM vote on it instead.
He is also leaving out that the amount of spending they are adding will trigger a cut in Medicaid and Medicare automatically.
What’s sad is that anyone can read the bill and easily disprove this propaganda, but he knows 99% of people will not.
