I knew a man who was like that from birth. He didn’t recognize his own mother on a daily basis. He knew her voice, but not her face.

I have a mild version of this. I recognize people but it can take meeting them a dozen times before it sticks. And sometimes even then if I see them out of context I may not know them.
It makes people angry or feel insulted. I hate it.
