Lots of ridings getting flipped by recounts this election! If ever you feel like your vote doesn’t matter, just remember how close some of these ridings were this time.
The last topic on this got locked for some reason. Said it had already been posted but there’s no other topic on it that I can see. Anyway, repost my comment from there:

But Twitter told me the Liberals rigged the election so this can’t happen?
Not shocked about this, figured Terra Nova would flip back CPC during the recount.
I didn’t vote Conservative (and the lack of proportional representation is another matter altogether), but I’m really pleased by our country’s electoral infrastructure and checks.
A lot of close ridings really this election..really good strategic timing of the election by carney to take advantage of being new and trump issue.
Really if election took place a week later or month we likely have a different result by simple 1 or 2% of votes shifting would have moved 20 seats.
Roughly 11 seats where decided by 1% or less
So, the final count stands at 169/144/22/7/1. Even if a Liberal is elected Speaker, the government can pass legislation 168-166 if the NDP and Greens abstain.
If Terrebonne had gone the other way or the courts order a byelection, things would get a bit more precarious.
