      Almost as if the millionaires and billionaires and grifters in the media were crying over literally nothing, whilst actual business owners realised that the NI changes made next to no difference in the daily running of their business.

    2. Call me skeptical, but I’d say a good percentage of those fall into the following categories:

      * Ghost jobs
      * Roles requiring 10 years of experience in some obscure field/software/skill for slightly over minimum wage
      * MLM schemes (think Utility Warehouse, Herbalife etc.)
      * Recruitment agencies harvesting data

      But, but, but I was told the „jobs tax“ was causing fewer vacancies?!

      I mean, I thought it was not true given I’d changed jobs after it was announced and so did a few other colleagues.

      More right wing scaremongering?

      I have noticed a slight uptick with recruiters calling me. Luckily im in a job and my contract got extended but the jobs on offer in consultancy and tech as a contractor I have nitice the day rates are much lower

      My question would be do these jobs actually pay a living wage or are they the type you need 3 different jobs to break even?

    6. Anyone know if there’s a breakdown into which industries have the highest number of open vacancies?

      This is a good way to lie with statistics. How much did it from March to April the previous years?

      Almost all companies get budgets for hiring in the new financial year so seeing this stat in a vacuum tells us nothing.

    8. This is a one month change. That ignores the fact that it’s a decline on the quarter, and a decline on the same month last year.

      Don’t confuse seasonal changes with long-term trends.

      If that stats include vaccines by recruitment agencies then most of these are fake job adverts to attract candidates.

      And yet no one is offering better wages. Just sitting about complaining they can’t get applicants, good applicants, people keep leaving etc etc
