They’re not waking up until they feel the financial pain. Problem is, so many will blame immigrants and trans people before they blame the corporate cash that is hoarding money, buying up every property and business, and keeping people in lifetime debt while they keep dousing gasoline on a burning world, all in the pursuit of constant gains.

I’m doubting enough Americans will wake up in time. Things have already gone so far out of control and non of the republicans who could put a stop to this are willing to risk their positions to do the right thing.

I wish I could be optimistic like AOC. Unfortunately, a third of this country is all „choke me harder, daddy!“ while another third or so simply doesn’t care. It’s downright depressing to realize that too.

Everyone is misunderstanding this because of the headline. If you read the article she said „wake up in the morning“. She didn’t mean that figuratively. She meant actually waking up in the morning because they passed this bill in the middle of the night last night.
I wish she was right, but let’s be real. We’re less than 100 days until football starts and a large swath of the country will simply be tuning out.
As much as I like her, I very much doubt there will be any kind of waking up going on.
People don’t just wake up. They must be forced awake.

That’s why the bill doesn’t have the Medicaid cuts beginning until December 2026. They want to get through the midterms before the pain sets in and people turn on them.

Trump tariffs destroyed soy farmers and the steel industry during Trump’s first term. But the farmers and steel workers voted for Trump again in 2020 and 2024. Americans are too gullible and have no critical-thinking skills. The average voter is a moron.
