We are so cooked. From the party that demanded smaller piecemeal budgets to now literally sucking off Trump for 1000 pages out of cowardice… This is pathetic. I can’t believe only 3 Republicans wouldn’t vote for this. Thanks for dying Connolly you lost us this bill.

Isn’t this the bill that prohibits AI regulation for 10 years?

If it is, then we’re cooked.

Needless to say, pathetic, and one that will cause them a lot of heartburn once it comes out over the break what all is in that bill way before the Senate begins to deal with it, which most probably will not go through as this House bill.

      > “Every member of the conference can be proud of this legislation in the end. It’s truly [a] nation shaping piece of legislation.”

Shaping the nation, but mostly in favor of who now Mike?

    5. This bill will hurt the working class, low income individuals and people with disability.

It was always going to pass. It will.go.to the senate, they may remove some of the awful things but not all, pass it. It will then go back to the house where it will pass. It will still be awful.

    7. This bill now bans Medicaid from covering gender affirming for all trans people. Private insurance will use this as a reason to no longer cover care as well. If you’re someone who was „just asking questions‘ or had ‚concerns about sports‘ know I hate you.

    8. Oh great. So glad Dems let Connolly have his turn, and since he died yesterday the vote was not 215-215, but 215-214. Goddamn it

    9. Unsurprising result for the stupidest bill title ever. Anyone on Medicaid should start reading up on herbal remedies and self surgical techniques after it’s had its guts removed. Thank goodness the affluent got a tax cut though, I’m 100% sure it’s gonna trickle down to the poor.

I do appreciate how they aren’t even pretending it’s beneficial to the average American. Like it’s kind of refreshing to see a group of people so unencumbered by doing what’s best for their constituents they don’t need to pretend.

This brings me absolutely no pleasure, but so many people who voted for Trump are about to learn a very valuable lesson in why their vote matters. Red states are taker states and these states are going to not be able to afford their share of Medicare costs. So many Trump voters will lose their healthcare that when the leopards are feasting they will not be able to afford to see a doctor.

Vote count was 215 to 214 to 1. Democrats have had 3 deaths in 2 months.

Fun fact Democrats have also had the last 8 deaths in the house dating back to 2022 as well. There is a rot in the not fascist party so deep that needs to be addressed immediately.

You frogs need to jump out of the pot. The water is almost boiling!

I feel for only those who didn’t vote for this. I’m sorry.

Apparently one of the things this bill does is remove Judicial authority to hold members of the Executive branch in contempt, effectively nullifying the court system. We’re one big step closer to a dictatorship. Having had these powers I can’t see them allowing a peaceful change of power to a Democratic majority, let alone a President AOC, for example.

    15. Not surprising at all. This is what the country voted for. It was not a secret. It was not a coded message. It was laid out in writing ahead of time and talked about constantly. 2/3 of this country said “I’m fine with all of it” on 11/5/24.

Reality is the only antidote left for what ails this country: stupidity and apathy.

Buckle up… bonds and debt is going rocket high anytime soon! – and stocks make the u-boat dive meanwhile

    17. Social Security is next. 1st they will take their health care, then those that survive will lose their SSI. This will also include children on survivor benefits.

    18. Just so yall everyday joes know, if you are making under 30k a year your taxes are about to increase by 70%. Gonna be alot of homless soon. Remember, yall voted for this. 👍

    19. This bill is a ticking time bomb. We need to raise taxes, not cut them. We need much much deeper cuts to spending across the board, not these accounting gimmicks. The national debt is going to bankrupt the US with how politicians are ignoring it.

    20. Illuminated12 on

Trump broke a campaign promise to his supporters today. They have officially tried to cut Medicaid and Medicare.

    21. SMH. At some point our whole economy collapses and it’s lost for generations. I think we are at that point.

The student loan changes in this bill will ruin me. I’m terrified.

    23. I don’t understand how some of these folks who fight so hard for rich people will never be rich or wealthy. Control? Power?

    24. NotTobyFromHR on

And if democrats ever regain power, they’ll get lambasted for increasing taxes and increasing spending

    25. 3 trillion to extend cuts for the richest citizens while 7.6 million lose their healthcare. Terrorist scum.
