Hallo allerseits,
Ich lebe jetzt seit drei Jahren in Berlin und hatte in meiner Wohnung immer einen konstanten Stromverbrauch von durchschnittlich etwa 1,7 kWh pro Tag. Ich habe zwei Lampen und einen Zwei-Wege-Herd und koche nur einmal am Tag.
Vor Kurzem erhielt ich jedoch eine schockierende Stromrechnung von Vattenfall, in der ein durchschnittlicher Verbrauch von 12 kWh pro Tag in den letzten vier Monaten angegeben war. Dieser Anstieg fiel mit dem Besuch eines Hauselektrikers zusammen, der einen Schalter zur Steuerung der Flurbeleuchtung entfernte.
Ich bin verwirrt über diesen plötzlichen Anstieg und frage mich, ob jemand etwas Ähnliches erlebt hat oder einen Einblick in die mögliche Ursache hat. Könnte es sich um eine Fehlfunktion des Geräts oder ein anderes Problem handeln?
Für jede Hilfe oder jeden Vorschlag, wo ich weitere Hilfe suchen kann, wäre ich sehr dankbar. Dank im Voraus!

Check your meter if it’s actually counting that much, and if yes, turn off the main fuse in your apartment and see if it’s still counting anything (it shouldn’t), if it’s not then try turning off individual devices or fuses for the rooms to see where the usage comes from within your apartment.
Your previous energy usage was quite low, average for a one person household is somewhere around 1500 kWh per year with a range from 1200 kWh to 1800 kWh being considered normal.
Unless you have a very good explanation for this, it is possible that your meter is broken.
That said, 4200 kWh is what a family of 4-8 people uses for everything including washing machine, freezer, fridge, tv and other electronic gadgets such as gaming system, pc, etc.
So something is not right here either.
I agree that a possible explanation is that the house electricity got accidentally connected to your line, but the meter could also be faulty.
Call the Stadtwerke and report this.
Could be that there is some short circuit or creepage if the electrician made a mistake. You don’t really write if you actually can look at your electricity meter and check the consumption, so your post doesn’t make it clear if you can be sure that the meter reading / the Vattenfall bill is correct.
12 kWh per day is of course much too much for a single person. 1,7 kWh sounds quiet low (less than the average consumption, but it is not undoable if you have an energy saving refridgerator and no washing machine. But could it also be that your meter was actually never read correctly, and now it was read correctly for the first time, so they are thinking you used all of this during the last 4 months, although in realitiy it is just your consumption from the last few years that was never read from the meter actually but only an estimate (which was too low for several years)?
