Yes I have a mental health disorder, the symptoms of which are common sense, critical thinking, displaying morals, ethics and values including expecting my country to honor the constitution and protecting human rights.
Meanwhile, our „president“ exhibits all the symptoms of Narcissistic Personality Disorder, which is – according to the DSM-5 – a mental illness. He isn’t capable of being a public servant. Yet, to MAGA, „owning the libs“ was more important than having a president who was actually capable of running the country.

Psychologist here. Can assure you no mental disorder and anyone who is a psychiatrist or psychologist or psychology doctoral level researcher (or even a masters level therapist) claiming this should have their professional license suspended for ethics violations.
That said No one in our line of work or profession will acknowledge this as legitimate btw because 1.) it’s based on nonsense and 2.) it would violate the ethics and standards that we uphold (and violating those would lead to possible board hearings and license suspensions). So no , no one is going to go along with this and no insurances or medical doctors are going to follow this if it ever became an “NIH mandate.”
Side note 1 : plenty of our colleagues have the power to grant or revoke firearms permits and ownership btw based on psychological fitness and stability. Quite literally many roles that require firearms and also many permits and licenses require a psychological screening.
Side note 2: Accreditation of our training and programs lies with an organization outside of federal control and licensing and boarding lies with state boards not federal boards. So the NIh and federal government would have little say if any on mandating anyone actually follow such absurdity about mental illness for expressing one’s opinion.
That said we do have empirically based data and research that shows… the opposite of what these two facists are proposing. So I think these two representatives need to realize they’re in for quite a surprise. Can of worms they shouldn’t open.
Almost every state has involuntary psychiatric holds for people who are „a danger to themselves or others.“ Most of those states allow it to be extended indefinitely.
