***From Rolling Stone’s Nikki McCann Ramirez:***

“It’s just over 100 days, you guys have gone from promising to lower costs to ripping away people’s health care. Of course, you don’t want anybody to know what you’re doing here,” Rep. Jim McGovern (D-Mass.) said around 1:30 a.m. “It’s because you know this bill betrays the people who voted for you.”

“This isn’t just incompetence. It’s much more nefarious than that. You are intentionally hiding what you are doing. What an insult to the people of this country, what disdain you guys must have for the people who voted for you.”

    2. I blame Harris for this. She could have stopped this nonsense.

But she and the milquetoast DNC didn’t care enough to excite Millennials, or earn our votes.

They could’ve chosen to be bold, like Bernie, instead of milquetoast.

It’s not about the cuts. It’s about the other things in the budget that are much, much worse.

    5. they are a bunch of lowlife, sleazy rats (no offense to the rodents) who are selling out the soul of this country on the daily. One day I hope to see them all in some courtroom, sniveling about how they were just „following orders“

Cowards. Mike Johnson especially. That sycophant is a sorry excuse for a human being.

They should be doing these things on broadcast TV. It’s what the voters want, right? So let’s put it out there

The GOP has it set for the cuts to take effect in 2029. Perfect timing for them to flip the blame to Democrats because that’s who will have won back majority by the time this happens.

We need an override code for the two-party system because it’s at late-stage Capitolism, and if the people don’t start to join forces, the minority billionaires are taking us all for a ride.

Mike Johnson is pure evil. Commits acts of treason while holding up a cross.

    10. How terrible! I’m not sure what medicaid cuts will do but it sounds like something bad for poor people.

Then GOP is a bad faith class terrorist organization that kills people

    12. And when the cuts hit their supporters they’ll just believe democrats are to blame.

    13. If people lose Medicaid, then we ALL lose more than just their benefits. This ultimately means they won’t be able to afford their homecare help or nursing home services. Providers would have to reduce their employees in these areas since they would no longer get reimbursements. It’s so frustrating that the long-term effects of this bill often gets skipped over. Reporters really need to dumb it down so people can see exactly where that road will take them. Our Grandparents, the disabled, and our nurses/medical staff/small businesses depend on Medicaid for different reasons.

And Democrats are doing nothing to stop it. They should be organizing huge rallies right now. Big press conferences will all Democratoc congressional representatives. Something. Voting is not enough.

It’s like they don’t understand the bill will be read. They will be held accountable. Sneak it through at night. Sure that’s all the cover you need. Idjits.

    16. They must not be planning to have another election the way they are acting.

In addition to this, the fact that I have barely heard a word out of these fucks since this administration has been in power just speaks to how in on this the GOP is.

They want everything to blow up, they want Americans to be miserable.

They don’t love this country, they don’t want to make it better. They just want to latch on and leech away as much as possible away from everyday Americans.

      Fuck all of them.

    18. the social programs are killing us, literally trillions a year they gotta go.

Welcome to the end of democracy if they pass this without any bipartisan notice. A wonderful voucher system awaits us all for healthcare. I hope nobody expects to spend more than $1500 a year but then again with all our children working the mother will take care of them since they won’t be allowed to work. Then again, if nobody goes to work, it’ll be a lot harder for them to do any of this. The AI is not there yet, but it will be soon. Gotta run. It’s almost time for those The 2 Minutes of Hate

Seems odd to phase the title like that. Sort of burying the lead as the most important part is about the cuts – not the time of day. The article kept highlighting the time of day, but then said that they had been debating for at least 8 hours…so it’s not like when they started it was the dead of night.

    22. At this point, let them do it. I know people will suffer, but I’m sure the majority are already Maga and hopefully will vote the other way come the midterms. But I know that many will still continue to vote against their own interest just to own the Libs.
