I’m sorry, was 47 loudly calling for FEMA’s defunding taken as another one of his “jokes”? Like, I don’t understand why these clown Republican politicians expected to be the exception to the rule. He said he would gut FEMA. Like…?

***From Rolling Stone’s Nikki McCann Ramirez:***

A prominent Republican lawmaker like Hawley begging a Republican administration to approve emergency aid for a Republican state is a sign of how badly federal agencies responsible for the welfare of vulnerable populations have eroded under Trump.

    3. As a Missourian, let me say to the majority of my fellow voters: „fuck all y’all“.

St Louis is a blue dot in a red state, and the storms did the most damage in majority-black neighborhoods. Trump will either do nothing or will wait two months to do anything, like he did to Arkansas.

I thought you hard manly conservatives only needed bootstraps and didn’t want no government aid?

    5. Whoa – the Running Man doesn’t think that this is the masculinity that should be coming from the White House? I thought that he was all about „men being men“ and all that talk about „boot straps“?

Missourians should band together and buy DJT if they expect any help. Still a gamble but maybe King Trump will throw them a bone

**Trump**: Josh you’re going to have to fight with Sarah.
**Josh**: Well, I can certainly sit down and figu—
**Trump**: No, in the ring. Fight. Ivanka is going to sell million dollar tickets ringside while Eric serves snacks.

      >“The state has pending three requests for major disaster declarations from earlier storms we’ve lost over a dozen people. Well, actually, if you count the folks we lost just on Friday, we’ve lost almost 20 people now in major storms just in the last two months in Missouri,” Hawley said.

      >“Will you commit to helping, for those three major disaster declaration requests that are pending, will you expedite those, Secretary Noem, and get those in front of the president, get those approved?” Hawley asked. “We are desperate for the assistance in Missouri.”

      >Noem replied that she would make sure the applications were put before Trump as soon as possible, and agreed to expedite individual assistance for qualified Missourians impacted by the recent storms.

Individual assistance? Wut da fuq is that? Does that mean only those who had loved ones die or is that a case by case decided by her and/or Trump as to who gets emergency funding meaning only „MAGA“ people?

I’m glad these Secretaries have enough fortitude to show up to a Senate hearing and glad to see Senators from red states have some issues with these dweebs – that they also approved to be in these positions.

    9. Trumps desires to dismantle FEMA because he wants states to beg and grovel to the king, quid pro quo.

These republicans literally voted for and asked for this. They clearly stated all of this in their Project 2025 agenda.

    11. Fuck this guy, fuck him in specific, Hawley is a piece of shit and has done nothing but act like a jackass since 2020 when he entered the senate.

    12. Hawley getting what he voted for.

We are going to see a lot of this in the coming years. States are going to have to fend for themselves. Even full red Trump states are getting the cold shoulder for FEMA and other federal funds. Elections have consequences was what people were told after Trump got three SCOTUS picks in his first term. Same applies here. No federal funding for you or anyone else.

    13. Interesting-Risk6446 on

Go fuck yourself Josh. This is what you and the rest of the right wing cult asked for. Enjoy it bitch.

    14. Hillbilly_Boozer on

No, Josh. Those are government handouts. We need to pull ourselves up by our boot straps, remember?

I hate that this piece of shit insurrectionist reps my state.

    15. Negative_Gravitas on

Get fucked, Hawley, you utter fucking traitor. May your constituents finally see you for what you are and take appropriate action.

You may view it as snubbing a red state, but I’m partially convinced that they see it as snubbing a blue city.

As a St. Louis resident, I can assure you that the areas affected went very against Trump in the 2016, 2020, and 2024 elections.

    17. sugarlessdeathbear on

Maybe conservatives shouldn’t have complained about FEMA during the last couple of disasters. If they tell me enough times that they don’t want something, eventually I’m going to believe that and then they won’t have it. Like now.

    18. Fancy_Bus8457 on

Guess you weren’t expecting that climate change to hit Missouri huh?

    19. FEMA isnt snubbing shit. FEMA is tied up and gagged in the basement bloody and beaten and would still drag its self over broken glass to help you, but you but Musk and Trump in charge.

      Trump is saying NO support.
      DOGE is saying NO support.
The GOP are saying NO support.
This is Republican policy that that is telling you NO, just die.

    20. Pretty sure FEMA doesn’t declare disasters when you’re attacked by a pack of face eating leopards.

    21. SendMeIttyBitties on

Man, wasn’t it better when you could just lie to people and say FEMA was dragging its shoes or just blame the president.

      Now what?

    22. Gop when California is burning,“We don’t care.“ Destroy FEMA. Red States get hit horribly and want assistance, but FEMA has no real leadership. The funding was also cut. People from the agency are being fired, resigned or put in for retirement.
This sudden 180 is both sad and expected.

    23. Appropriate-Key-7554 on

You guys are cruel! I’m sending those Republican thoughts and prayers his way. That will help.

    24. lurkandnomore on

Which one of ‘em denied funds for California unless “certain conditions were met”?

Whoever that guy is, fuck his state in particular.
