    1. From reporter Paul Blumenthal:

Early Friday evening, the Supreme Court issued a pointed decision in the case of a group of Venezuelan detainees who previously faced the imminent risk of being sent to a notorious prison in El Salvador by the Trump administration. In addition to rejecting the administration’s choice to give these detainees only 24 hours notice of their removal, the decision answered a question indirectly posed in the case.

Is the highest court in the nation sick of the Trump administration’s bullshit?

The answer, the decision states rather definitively, is yes.

Oh noes!!! Whatever will Trump do?!? Poor, poor Trump. All he has is complete and utter immunity from all his actions!!!

      People are so cruel.

    3. Grimlockkickbutt on

They are really gunna slam him this time. Damage control media. Don’t riot. Democracy is intact we swear

    4. SCOTUS could give Sen Susan Collins a run for pearl clutching and sputtering their shock, absolute shock that the guy they gave carte blanche would actually cash in that carte blanche.

    5. No_Method5989 on

Just wait till the executive branch gets a hold of him.

DId Roberts not think about this? What could go wrong if we give him some more immunity…You going to tell me he will use his immunity for „core acts“ to ignore SCOTUS?

      That’s crazyyyyyy *signs*

      *2 months later*

      T_T

Like I get it in spirit, but ffs the one of the Candidate previous was looking „extra special“ special legal theories to force himself to become president?????? AKA illegal ways, trying to by pass the rules.

You thought this dude would get presidency and just obey? like come on.

    6. SCOTUS is divided. Two are in lockstep with the excuses, two waver back and forth, two lean into the excuses, and three are genuinely appalled by them.

Why don’t they hold Pam Bondi in contempt as the AG for every time a court order is ignored. Start there and go down the line.

Aito and Thomas say otherwise, and the other GOP judges don’t have the balls to go against him when it matters. If they do – their family will suffer (Coney Barrett).

    9. I’ll believe when I see it. He is going to continue to walk all over the supreme Court and they are going to do NOTHING about it. Y’all are fucked.

    10. HurinGaldorson on

Remember when Alito said the Court was acting on false premises because there was no evidence the US government would deport more people, as people were literally being loaded onto buses to be deported, and then those buses ultimately had to be turned around when the majority ignored Alito?

      Alito doesn’t seem to.

    11. Narrator: “That turned out not to be true.”

Without enforcement and action, this is just clickbait. The Supreme Court enabled Trump, and I’ve yet to see him dial that back, in any way, shape or form.

    12. Should’ve thought about that before the fascist toothpaste was out of the tube.

We’re so upset that we’ll bang a gavel and stand here with our arms crossed. Take that

    14. grateful_happy1018 on

But they sure are giving him a lot of free passes so they must not be that tired of it…….

    15. Look there isn’t going to be anyone to save us but ourselves. At some point governors are going to have to make some tough decisions about what they need to start doing to protect their citizens. If that fails then it is up to the people. That is the long and the short of it.

    16. sergiosergio88 on

Oh yeah im sure they will do something about it, jesus christ dont you people get tired of wishing this headlines were true.

    17. rapidcreek409 on

They gave him gasoline. They gave him matches. Now they seem shocked he’s using them.

    18. ChemicalOnion on

I’m done with these bait headlines. Unless he’s arrested these are the same headlines we had when Garland was AG promising us that „Trump’s really in trouble now!!“

He won’t face punishment until death, and if you think otherwise, you have grossly overestimated our flawed system.

    19. So, what’s next? I suppose after this they will have had too much of his excuses? Followed by being absolutely over-stuffed with his excuses. Like the diner in *Monty Python’s Meaning of Life* they will have just one more excuse (wafer-thin) until they explode.

    20. phinatolisar on

LOL, okay. They will continue to rubber stamp his every attempt at subverting the constitution and abusing his power.

    21. LostAbstract on

They have? Show me an ounce of pushback. Show me there’s some teeth to our checks and balances. I might feel like giving a shit then.

    22. alabasterskim on

Honestly if I were Dems I’d raise another challenge to Trump’s legitimacy as president per the 14th amendment and see how they rule now.

    23. Great so that means he’s getting removed from office, right? No? I’m so tired of hearing „x has finally had it with Trump“ and absolutely NOTHING HAPPENS. His staff is fed up. Supreme Court is fed up. The people are fed up. No the fuck they aren’t. He could be removed by the people around him in minutes.

    24. Why does it seem like America’s safeguards to fascism include just assuming people won’t be dicks and abuse the system.

    25. I bet they’re just steamed about it all. So much so, they won’t do anything about it and keep allowing it to happen

    26. They ain’t gonna do shit! They’re terrified (rightfully so) of Trump putting out hits on them through social media. We’re fucked, people!
