Summary: Qatar has launched a far reaching influence campaign across US media, especially targeting conservative outlets like Fox News after Trump’s 2016 election victory.

Documents filed under the Foreign Agents Registration Act reveal that Qatari backed lobbying firms worked closely with journalists to shape pro-Qatar narratives, often resulting in favorable media coverage within days.

Key figures, such as Tucker Carlson, were involved, and firms like Lumen8 Advisors and GRV Strategies were paid handsomely for these efforts.

This strategy aligns with a broader shift in Trump’s stance on Qatar, highlighted by a controversial $400 million jet gift.

Qatar is making a bet that they can buy influence on both sides of the political aisle, all over the globe.

In the U.S., they’ve already made deep inroads with the more liberal academic community for 2 decades. contributing in the billions to prominent universities and academic think tanks.

Now they’re targeting conservatives, trying to play the role of deal makers and apolitical negotiators.

Like most of the Gulf States, they know the era of fossil fuels will eventually end, and when it does, they need deeply entrenched ties and business investments with larger, more diversified economic players.

Qatar wants global influence and popularity with their citizens. Thats why they support Hamas with one hand, and the U.S. with the other. It’s about preserving the regime.

    3. Kinda makes sense right wingers are going to be more openly hostile to hamas, Iran, and anyone already associated with those actors. Left wingers already get anti-Israeli viewpoints from Al Jazeera, BBC, MSNBC. You put money in the demographic you need convinced.
