On the morning of 14 May 2025, a disturbing discovery rattled the quiet seaside community of Watch Hill, Rhode Island. Human remains, believed to be a leg bone, were found along Everett Avenue, just minutes from the gates of [Taylor Swift](https://www.ibtimes.co.uk/topics/taylor-swift)’s £14 million seaside mansion, known locally as ‚High Watch.‘

I swear, if it also turns out she is a prolific serial killer, I’m just gonna be more of a fan. Is there anything she CAN’T do?!

Honestly the article is worth a read just for amazing window onto our culture. So far the police say basically weird but nothing to see. Online sleuths disagree, immediately proposing elaborate theories of serial killers that I assume will result in Elmo being accused of cannibalism.

The news media can’t help themselves and squeal with glee at being able to put Taylor Swift in the headline and describe her (admittedly amazing sounding) property. Meanwhile Taylor Swift has literally nothing to do with this story.

The uber rich residents that they did interview remain wary, possibly for the first time considering that their wealth may not stave off mortality, possibly just at the offense of not knowing the social status of the owner of that leg bone.

When asked about the remains, Ms. Swift commented, „Oo, look what you made me do.“

    5. I live in New England, here in Massachusetts, and we just recently had an incident where fishermen pulled up a body when they were trawling in the area off of Boston and as it turns out it was a failed burial at sea. Is it possible this is a similar situation? It’s a sea side area. Ideally the appropriate distance off shore into deep ocean for sea burials avoids this; but could have been prior sea burial and there was predation of the remains so here only a body part was dragged back accidentally by fishermen to the shore line and it washed on the beach?

Why are they bringing up Swift? Does everyone already know where she lives and “oh that dune a quarter mile down from her mansion? Oh man I walk by there everyday! How many bodies?!”

Modern journalism needing to include some tie in so they can get more ad revenue from a story

    7. Rhode Island is a DARK place. It has a brutally dark underbelly. I lived many places in the world, but Rhode Island definitely was the one place I felt the most unsafe.

There’s already rumors of a “New England serial killer” but it’s mostly online speculation. Swifts house is on a peninsula at the very bottom of Rhode Island sticking out into the Atlantic. A lot of things are going to wash up in that area

It happens. There are two places I’ve lived where a dead body has been found within seeing distance. The 2nd one was just because in our fanciness we lived directly next to the train tracks and it was later considered to be a drunk person who hopped a fence in a mood and just ended up passed out in the wrong spot.

The 1st one, though, was a genuine rape and strangulation by a local where a 14 yo girl’s body was found next to a boatyard I’d used to swim and walk near. March. Warm enough for no more snow but also no one was really using the area in season yet.

There’s been some talk over on the massachusetts subs about a serial killer operating in the Springfield area, not terribly far away. Some accounts seem convinced there’s a serial killer while other accounts seem bent on trying to convince others that it’s just the media hyping up regular deaths in homeless communities … but others are not so sure.

She’s a serial killer now? How does she have time? I like her even better.
