    1. I asked one half and they said they work more but maybe the other half works less, haven’t asked them yet.

    2. Could you link us the data cited by CNN? We currently only have an incomplete screenshot of the alleged article to work with.

If there was no data cited by CNN for readers to verify – then we are apporaching this in a very backwards manner. Those who make claims provide proof for claims. The opposite of that, i.e. those that want to refute claims must provide proof, is a logical non-sequitur called [„shifting the burden of proof“](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burden_of_proof_(philosophy)#Shifting_the_burden_of_proof).

So let’s see the proof provided by CNN, and if nothing is provided, lets not waste our time chasing down wild claims.

any news article that does not come from a reputable icelandic news agency about iceland should always be read with extreme skepticism, especially if the article is american. most of it is sensationalised or tourist bait.

Live in Iceland have two jobs to be able to pay for stuff here. Wife works two jobs, mother in law works 60 hour weeks, father in law has full time and is also self employed on the side. Do you know how expensive things are here?
Bus ride 5 euro for 90 minutes
Taxi to airport 200 euro for 45 km ride
      Beer downtown 15 euro
Liter of gasoline at cheapest place 2 Euro
Two pizzas from dominos 40-50 Euro with offer
Sandwich and drink from Joe and the Juice 35 Euro
Pool pass for adult 10 Euro per time

    5. Well working less than 40hrs per week is the norm in western europe so it not actually that impressive

    6. I don’t think so
I have 1 friend that’s works less then 40 hours a week and I have 20 friends that work minimum 50 hours a week

    7. It’s also pretty different for salaried workers. I work more than 40hrs most weeks but get a fixed salary. It’s then compesated by having a flexible schedule and being able to go on errands etc. as needed during the workday.
