The 55th Artillery Brigade (55 OABr) is one of the oldest artillery units in Ukraine. In 2018, the brigade was awarded the honorific title „[Zaporozhian Sich](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zaporozhian_Sich).“ The brigade operates a squadron consisting of six batteries, each with three units, of [CAESAR](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAESAR_self-propelled_howitzer) self-propelled howitzers donated by France following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
