How did new microbes develop in a supposed sterile environment?
I hope that this type of stuff will finally get us beyond this policy of sterilizing everything going to Mars. When people go within a few decades it’s going to get forever contaminated anyway as you can’t decontaminate a living being of living things.
I don’t want people to get set in this mindset as it may damage future ability for humans to go. They’ll say that humans can’t go because they would contaminate Mars. I can just imagine extremist environmentalists complaining about it (they already have).
