      Great. They said something stupid, it understandably offended people, so they apologized. It’s time to move on.

      wasn’t the “joke” something along the lines of “I can’t believe we gave part of Jerusalem to those people”? how is that “addressed solely toward the song?”

      The word „debated“ is a Google translate mistranslation. He uses the word „הסתלבטנו“ which you could translate to „joked around with“.

      Really, this is just typical Israeli TV style of stale humor. If anything, to Israeli minds it indicates familiarity more than anything. Most comments on all the other performers are pretty much on that dame level.

      Ok but the wording of this is very Sorry I’m not Sorry. „Satirical…. unintentionally offended…was perceived as offensive.“

      I thought the commentator’s apology was strong. But i think this apology from the media outlet is weak.

      It does not acknowledge what actually happened. The problematic comments were not “about the song” but instead were about the Armenians of Jerusalem

      Jews joke around. These jokes were pretty lame and pretty typical. Like “…Take my wife…. please!” level stuff.

      Israel has been a major supplier of arms to Azerbaijan because they both fear Iran and they get 40% of their oil from them too.

      The current Israeli government certainly does not give a fuck about Armenia, no matter what they say.

      The generic Israeli TV host?
      That person has as much to do with it as some random American actor hosting the Olympics does with whatever Trump is doing. Pretty much zero.

      I don’t understand why so many Armenians are pro-Israel. Stop defending them, Israel isn’t your friends nor do they care about you. They even support Azerbaijan, but somehow r/Azerbaijan is way more critical of Israel than this sub.

      I think Liberman has just made a huge ad to Parg and his song. I even opened Spotify to check it out (never was a huge fan of Armenian pop music and Eurovision sh&tty show as well… in my opinion the only music genius living now is Tigran Hamasyan – fantastic authentic Armenian music sugarcoated in sweet neo-jazz…)

      Parg should be grateful for what happened , scandal attract public attention and eventually… lead to more streams on all platforms.

      Omg who cares about this stupid comment from an ignorant commentator. It looks like they always joke around and make these types of jokes. I think the commentator knows nothing about Armenia and probably doesn’t even know any Armenians in real life. Armenia and the caucuses are two hours away from Israel but doesn’t seem like the average Israeli even knows anything about that region in general

      Here’s the thing.
      – people can offend unintentionally. It was not the case.
      – people can offend intentionally but it will be taken easily. There are bad apples everywhere, one comment does not represent the overall negative attitude of the entire government/nation. That was not the case either.

      To take such a comment easy or not, you need to look at the wider context. Did a french host make a stupid joke about Armenians? Yeah he’s a retard but we take it easy as we know the context – we have a clear supoort of french people and govt.

      Did an Israeli host make a stupid joke? We do not take it easy as it aligns with the wider trend of the Armenian quarter in Jerusalem getting segregated openly + and open friendship with AZ and open hostility of the country towards AM.
