We started adding floride to water because during ww2 almost 10% of recruits didn’t have 6 pairs of opposing teeth and were rejected from service
> in the months that followed the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, recruiters had to turn away one out of every 10 would-be soldiers because they lacked the six opposing teeth required for military service. Even among soldiers already serving, tooth decay was so rampant that the armed forces enlisted 20,000 dentists—more than a quarter of the nation’s practicing dentists—and dispatched them overseas to tend to the troops.
>Once the war ended, military and political leaders realized that bad teeth were compromising the nation’s combat readiness. On June 24, 1948, President Harry Truman ushered in the age of preventive dentistry when he signed the National Dental Research Act, designed “to improve the dental health of the people of the United States” through a research effort led by the newly created National Institute of Dental Research

Ban fluoride in water. Ban pasteurization. Ban iodine in salt. Ban sunscreen. Ban seatbelts and bike helmets.
Go for it!

People will die from it. Fluoride isn’t just related to morbidity, it has an established relation with mortality.

I support adding fluoride to our water, but I just gotta point out most rural Americans are on unfluoridated well water.

Basically just the title. Interested in reading what revolution was like for those respective parties, ideally direct sources from either Lenin or Mao. Thank you!

I am Italian. Here it is not customary to put fluoride in drinking water and there is no European directive that requires it. Can you explain to me why it is so important in your country?

Most countries don’t put flouride in water, another example of people of a certain political bent being too high on their own supply. The idea that water should be medicated forcibly is absurd on its face and an assault on people’s right to choose.

I swear that some people are confusing inorganic sodium fluoride with PFAS chemicals, and are demanding we get rid of all fluorinated chemicals in our water. Some politicians are more than willing to oblige for the most benign of the bunch, saying they took the fluorine out of water and declare victory, if it means that they can distract people from deregulation of the rest to be dumped freely for a few more decades. In the end we will all have rotten teeth and cancer.
