      Even if they make too little for income taxes, the poorer you are, the larger the percentage of your income goes to taxes.

      If you add potential import tarrifs, even the middle class will see a large increase in „taxes“, even if it’s hidden.

      Fuck this guy but the logic for „raising“ taxes is stupid. If they didn’t include the no tax on tips at all, would we call it a raise?  So the fact that they’re doing it and it sunsets isn’t a raise. It just means it will revert back to where it is now. It’s not good, and they should definitely spread the word that it’s not a permanent thing, but to call it a tax increase?  I’m much more upset about the Medicare changes.

      Last time I checked, they way you reduce debt is to increase revenue. Cutting taxes seems rather fiscally irresponsible.

      Americans making less than $30,000 will actually pay more in taxes under the GOP’s plan than under current law. Americans making less than $15,000 — the poorest of the poor — will pay 53% more in taxes than they do now as their average tax rate jumps from 3.3% to 5.1%. Meanwhile, households making over a million will pay 6.4% less in taxes (totaling an estimated $74 billion collectively), as their average rate falls from 30.8% to 28.7%.
