      Grocery stores can’t just „eat the cost increases“. They are low margin, very high volume industries. Walmart has a net profit margin of less than 3%, Kroger is even lower at around 1%.

      what he’s actually mad about is companies simply passing the cost into the customers rather than paying him kickback to drop the tariffs in whatever specific industry. It’s racketeering.

      Can’t wait for MAGA to start boycotting all the businesses that contributed to Trump’s campaign knowing he was going to create this situation. They’ll blame Walmart, Amazon and everyone else but not Trump.

      Does it work like that? The president just tells companies what their prices are going to be? I remember Republicans losing their minds that Harris was suggesting price controls (which she wasn’t) never mind ordering it be done as president.

      Consumers are free to spend their money elsewhere.

      So Trump raises prices via tariffs, then tells businesses to eat it, basically hurting businesses for no reason; and you know that they aren’t going to „eat“ anything. That’s a job for the poors.

      A solution for all these companies, that they will unfortunately never do, is to display the additional cost of the item due to tariffs separately along with the normal sticker price.

      As if tRump is some sort of expert on business. He’s not. 6 bankruptcies says he’s an idiot. Telling any company to eat the tariffs is just stupid. The importer pays the tariffs and passes it to the consumers. Costs will go up because of tRumps stupidity. It’s that simple.

      A few months ago, I warned one of my wealthy clients what effect these tariffs would have on their construction process. They are building a massive home and while the structure is done, all the fixtures, counter tops, tiles etc still need to be put in.

      Last week he sent me the report about how much the tariffs had “raised”. He pointed out it was record numbers and that I was getting my information from the wrong bias media sources.

      Friday he got his first counter top delivery. Nearly 2k in tariff fees. UPS wouldn’t deliver it without a check. He was beside himself.

      But even with this direct evidence, he still feels it’s the right thing to do because it’s teaching the rest of the world not to mess with USA.

      I’m reminded of the age old saying. A fool and his money…fortunate for him, he has a lot of money to burn, unlike most people I know.

      I mean I don’t disagree with that, but it’s not realistically going to happen and it contradicts trump’s earlier statements that foreign countries will pay the tariffs.
