      I truly believe Newsom is attempting this Clinton-like third way uber centrist approach. It might have worked in the 90s, but this a very different GOP and a very different Democratic Party

      I don’t think anyone in this thread has actually listened to Newsom’s podcast. He hasn’t made any sort of turn at all to the right. Talking to Charlie Kirk – as painful as it looks – does not make you a far right fascist.

      He’s brought plenty of lefties on like Scott G. and Tim W. and they had good conversations. The only issue Newsom has really capitulated on is trans women in sports which is a losing issue nationally.

      Oh, I forgot he also said Trump has a good memory. 😱

      He would have been a safe choice in 2024. I do not believe his current stance on Trump’s actions will be polling well with democrats these days. They are still trying to reach for the „moderate“ Republican instead of changing their approach.

      *As they should.* The moment he made that podcast he lost all credibility as someone worth supporting, IMO, and him, and people like him, are why I will never donate to the democrat party again until they have thoroughly ousted these wishy washy centrist pols.

      It’s time to make way for strong progressive candidates who work *for the People,* and Gavin Newsome and his ilk are not those candidates. I will never donate to the Dems again as long as they keep pushing people like him on us.

If anything the amount of people that didn’t vote for Kamala, based on Biden numbers should illustrate that people do not want right leaning candidates, and they should start pulling back to the left like AOC and Bernie.
