At least we have some new clarity on the situation which I find surprising. From the article:
The House of Commons says MPs who aren’t re-elected must vacate their parliamentary and constituency offices within 21 days of losing an election. **But it’s up to the Conservative Party to manage who lives in Stornoway, the Privy Council Office says.**
The last time moving costs for an Official Opposition leader were made public was in 2022, when Conservative interim leader Candice Bergen lived in Stornoway for less than a year. **The federal government paid close to $20,000 to prepare the official residence for her arrival, the Globe and Mail reported at the time.**
I’m surprised the Privy Council Office would say it’s up to the party. I assumed the law or the rules would be clear cut on this matter.

This doesn’t make sense. If you were actually concerned about this then just leave it vacant. “Oh we want to unnecessarily run up a bill at taxpayer expense, but not *too* big a bill.”
I’m okay with this. He has two young kids, one of whom is disabled and non verbal. So constantly moving would probably be a lot on both of them. He will likely be opposition leader again soon and it makes no sense for Scheer to move in again.
This is a decent point, so where is Pierres office exactly if not on the Hill?

Andrew Scheer is allowed to “sublet” this to Poilievre for less than a year while he wins a seat. Silly story, who cares? He lost, no need to grovel in it with made up issues when there are real ones.
He should move out. There’s no guarantee he will be voted in. Just like there was no guarantee he would win in Carleton. He needs to move out regardless of his family woke situation. Military families move all the time as do others for work.
Guys, even if he was forced to move out, Scheer would just let him use the residence until the by-election. All the random fake outrage about Stornoway is annoying me. He’s staying and trying to maneuver things otherwise would be incredibly stupid.
