Diese Wespe war in der Nähe meines Gartens und es ist das größte Insekt dieser Art, das ich gesehen habe. Es war ungefähr 2 cm lang und ich konnte es auf dem Holz kauen hören, auf dem es landete.
Irgendwelche Ideen was es ist?

They look scary, but are pretty chill, AND they keep the area free from wasps.

I had hornets exactly twice at my parents‘.
Both summers were wasp and mosquito free and nobody tried to steal our cake when we had coffee on the porch.
Total bliss.
It is a Hornet and it is collecting dead wood to make some nice paper for its hive.
They are super cool unless u annoy them and they eat wasps, mosquitos, and a lot more of the stuff u dont wanna hang around with.
Be lucky to see one, they are listed as an endangered species. Oh, killing them and getting caught can cost between 5k to 50k€.
