= In Tallinn wurden im vergangenen Jahr 48 480 Dosen Cannabis pro Bürger und Tag konsumiert.
Ich vermute, dass die Statistik tatsächlich 48,48 pro 1000 Einwohner betrug, und der Reporter wollte den Betrag pro Bewohner angeben und multiplizierte die Zahl mit 1000, anstatt sie um 1000 zu trennen.
Oder vielleicht rauchen die Menschen in Tallinn zusammen 22 Milliarden Gelenke pro Tag? 😀

I was just sent the original study and apparently it’s 48 480 doses total per day, not that many doses per person per day.

If in 2023 the average amount of THC-COOH in Tallinn was 9,915 mg per 1,000 inhabitants in wastewater, then in 2024 it was 12,610 mg (increase of 27%). The residue of cannabis use in wastewater in the Rakvere region was 8737 mg per 1000 inhabitants. If the amounts of cannabis are converted into doses to get a better overview, an average of 48,480 doses of cannabis were used per day for the residents of Tallinn and 1,317 in the Rakvere region. Daily use of cannabis is common in both study areas, plus recreational episodic use.
