Not sure an article was needed to answer that question.
The whole resentment towards the rest of Canada (and the federal government in particular) is based on a complete misunderstanding of what the Canadian Confederation is, including a decentralized system of governance but with an overarching framework helping to make all provinces more or less on the same development level. It is NOT like the United States!
The Canadian system is very different than the US one where each state is essentially a mini-country with its own set of economic, social, and criminal laws (often extremely different from one state to another). States might not be able to secede from the „United States“ but there is not much of an overarching framework trying to develop (or benefit) all states equally. This inequality in the US is precisely the source of so many problems.
Same is said about Quebec every time they bring it up. Yet, these articles never show up when they threaten every decade or 2. The country sends them a lot of contracts etc to placate those qualms, so why is it so bad that Alberta is using a tactic that clearly works?
The amnesia over the States saying no to Keystone XL is baffling. Looking at the Wikipedia page shows it was proposed in 2005! A full 20 years ago. Biden finally killed it.
Oh, but sure. The Libs are all that’s standing in the way of more pipelines. It’ll be Republican presidents forever in the US.
