      If you’re arresting an elected official for doing an inspection, you’re the bad guy.

      Not sure how that would happen.

      He’s got Congress under control.

      He’s got the Presidency.

      He’s even got SCOTUS.

      Abolished how exactly? We’d need a veto proof Congress to get it done. So, in happy, happy land, dreams really don’t come true.

      We’d need to flip 15 Senate seats alone or more.

      I know that it’s an impossible political platform in this country because of how ingrained racism is

      but we really should go back to open borders, and forming an economic coalition similar to the EU.

      Looking at all the resources that get pored into policing illegal immigration. All the agencies like ICE and HSI and CBP. All the prisons and short-term holding and medical holding. all the immigration courts that need to be adjudicated, along with the immigration judges and lawyers. It’s really ridiculous when you realize it all comes back to a single premise, that simply crossing an invisible border makes you a „criminal.“

      The Nazis are in charge until mid-terms. I think we have a 50-50 chance of even having mid-terms. Republicans are going to cheat shamelessly as there is no one stopping them. It is going to take a major change in public sentiment to change anything. A third of the country is held captive by the right wing media bubble. The left isn’t getting anywhere without breaking through the propaganda dome.

      I’m old enough to remember when The Left told everyone that ICE should be abolished because of this exact scenario. And no one listened.

      I live in a town with a big university that has alot of international students. Our town also has a small airport. An ICE plane arrived the other day, just before this weekend’s graduation ceremony at the university.

      They are intentionally ruining what should be a happy day for so many people. Fucking monsters.

      How can you hire an ethical individual when the sole purpose of their role is to shake down POCs?

      The trouble is that they (ICE) know they’re the bad guys and like it. If they keep getting away with acting like Brown Shirt bullies, they’ll be coming after us some day.

      ICE does not need to be abolished. there needs to be accountability. Congress needs to start pulling names all the way up the food chain to find out who gave what orders and when was that done. States need to start investigating and proscuting extra judicial actions. Federal law only applies when acts are carried out under the law. ICE is trained on what the law is and what their role in law enforcement is. It’s clear that when people start wearing masks to kidnap people, they are not acting as an officer of the united states. People need to keep treating these kidnappings as they are. Document, report, and work to protect those who are having their rights violated.

      No, don’t abolish ICE or defund the police. Don’t even say it. Instead, we need to have accountability and due process.
