Doesn’t surprise me. The Americans clearly don’t give a shit, and judging by the UK Deal Template they announced, they aren’t going to agree to free trade without the 10% tariffs.
The United States are on a downward spiral and are on the fast track towards authoritarianism. We truly don’t know what life will be like there next year, both from an economic and human rights perspective. They’re barely over 100 days into Trump’s presidency and they’re already looking at suspending habeus corpus. Renegotiating a trade deal in that climate is going to be very tricky.
