      Lol, even the 5th circuit and Supreme Court don’t want to go nearly this far. And effectively vetoing the Miller Test (a Supreme Court decision) would require large majorities in Congress that the GOP just doesn’t have. This will almost certainly fail, just like the last two times Lee tried it.

      This is about more than just porn. Let me remind everyone of what they consider „porn“.

      Straight from the Project 2025 handbook:

      liberation, and child welfare. It has no claim to First Amendment protection. Its

      Pornography should be outlawed. The people who produce and distribute it should
      be imprisoned. Educators and public librarians who purvey it should be classed
      as registered sex offenders. And telecommunications and technology firms that
      facilitate its spread should be shuttered.

      This is what they’re aiming for with this ban. All those book bans going on? The people putting those books into libraries and their classrooms could be arrested with this law in place.

      You have to read the fine print of the bill. People are saying that there is a Republican exemption, whereby Republicans are allowed to possess distribute and view pornography as long as it is for academic purposes. To wit, the studying of the effect of pornography on human subjects so as to understand its effects.

      If Mike Lee is sponsoring this,than he should first clean his own backyard in Utah with the Fundamental Latter Day Saints (FLDS) who still practice polygamy,marry off underaged kids, welfare fraud because only one wife is the legal wife but the other 10-12 wives file for federal assistance as single parents, while they all drive big fancy cars.       I was once a member of the Mormon Church. So many of their members that I’ve known over the years (like, almost all) were just the most judgmental, hypocritical MFers. Judging from how he’s coming after porn, Mike Lee almost certainly watches tons of it, like a lot of Mormons secretly do. They use outrage against it as a cover to hide their own addiction to it.

      Gotta throw in the “for the children” crap because most of these ghouls don’t want to be responsible and raise their children in the first place. They want the government to mandate that nobody produce content that they see as “dangerous”.

      These types of conservatives yearn for authoritarian rule so long as it aligns with their “belief system”. They would gladly give up everyone’s rights if it meant they could toss their kid an iPad without any responsibility of moderating the content themselves.

      They’re lazy, low effort, dirt bags. Simple as that. These people can’t handle the responsibility of being a parent so they want Big Brother to do it for them. Make no mistake, it’s porn now but the definitions are vague enough to be applied to almost anything.
