More accurate headline: Trump is systematically destroying the United States and nobody is seriously trying to stop him

    2. pragmatichokie on

As a former Republican, this is why I can no longer stand with people who support Trump. He doesn’t give a damn about historical precedent, the rule of law, or the US Constitution. To him it is not the bedrock of our Constitutional Republic, but rather just some old piece of paper that keeps getting in his way. The irony appears lost on him, that the US Constitution was written to protect us from people, exactly like Donald Trump.

    3. And Trump wouldn’t have gotten this far if CNN didn’t help sanewash him.

    4. Trump is on the right path… for a hideous attempt at global conquest with Putin, Un and Musk.

It’s ironic that Republicans shout „freedom“ as it’s being taken away right under their noses

Over half of the voters asked for this.
Are they getting what they wanted?

    8. No it didn’t, it took FDRs presidency. That’s basically it. It could all be redone again if we get a radical leftist in power who will actually use the tools at their disposal.

    9. Trump’s friend, Putin, is loving it. Pretty soon America will be too understaffed and weak to defend itself.

This. ⬆️ Humans are so predictable. They learn and build on prior knowledge. Establish standards and norms. But sooner or later some toddler comes along and knocks down the castle.

    11. It took fifty years of propaganda to convince a large enough portion of the American public that they actually want this.

    12. HonoredPeople on

Isn’t that a little too late CNN? I mean you guys directly helped him get elected, twice.

      Directly.

You created this monster and now the monster is going to utterly destroy you.

If anybody lives though this shit, I hope they make what you did an epic fing story about hubris. Luckly, chances are we won’t.

I didn’t sign up for this Nazi bullshit nor did I vote for this asshat. Never will the Republican party ever get my vote again.

The stupidest people support Trump. They’re completely bereft of historical understanding and the understanding of America’s place in the world. They support Trump destroying America 100%.

    15. LatterTarget7 on

Already undone some of it. Like the global relations trump has ruined won’t be so easy to get back

    16. Yeah. And he’s the worst. But can we be honest about America please? Just because we’ve been here 250 years doesn’t mean we have to keep going the same direction. Our constitution only works if people abide certain codes and have good intentions. It’s time to overhaul things and make our government criminal proof. It’s time to set some precedent regarding propaganda’s place in free speech.

    17. Although Drump is the front man for the federalist society. It’s their plan.

    18. The title is incorrect. It should say: “It took 250 years to build what Trump and Republicans, are trying to undo.”

    19. Trump is just a whistle at this point. The real freight train is Heritage Foundation.

    20. Fickle-Molasses-903 on

The majority of White people voting: ‚We did that.‘

*Of those who voted, 60% of wt males/ 53% of Wt females voted for Trump.*

    21. Historical_Bend_2629 on

I would say he is trying to undo the last 100 years. Civil rights, women voting, worker protections laws, child labor laws, no environmental protections. Probably fine with slavery and the gilded age and stupid wars of conquest.

    22. MisterStorage on

He is not doing it alone. The entire Republican Party could stop him but are not. They are all culpable.

    23. ThemysciranWanderer on

Freedom has become too woke because freedom means corporations cannot do whatever they want against its citizens. Trump is the culmination of all dark efforts to undo that.

    24. tomorrow509 on

And he must be stopped. At all cost. Else America will be lost. At what cost to our global future?

    25. Forsaken-Rutabaga569 on

It’s not just trump, republicans have been destroying everything since Reagan.

    26. willBlockYouIfRude on

250 years to build a system where wealthy and powerful elites control 99% of wealth and power while they use divide & conquer tactics to turn the masses against each other so that the masses never turn their attention against the elites.

I don’t like Trump and I don’t like the system either… maybe Trump should undo it…

    27. peapodbarry on

“Trying to undo”? Looks to me like they are being quite successful at it.

    28. SystemNo4064 on

60 years, tops. Slavery was less than 200 years ago and the draft was less than 50 years ago. He is the worst president in the last 100 years, but the founding fathers owned slaves

    29. noonesaidityet on

It took 250 years to build what Trump is trying to undo for the Heritage Foundation.

    30. Here is one way to take action that may actually result in change: sign up for the General Strike.

Things are rapidly declining in our country and it’s getting close to “show up or shut up” time. Let’s get this done and show this administration that we, the people, are prepared to shut the country down for as long as it takes to get real, lasting change.

Unfortunately, we can’t plan a date for the GS until we have the numbers large enough that can’t be ignored (11 million). Let’s get organized and show who actually has the power (hint: it’s people like you and me, if we can band together)
