Who needs consumer protection when you’ve got party loyalty, right?

    2. >The Democratic members of an independent agency dedicated to protecting Americans from dangerous products and issuing recalls and safety warnings were fired by President Trump via an overnight email.

      >It’s the latest instance of Trump seeking to replace high-ranking officials at independent federal agencies — efforts that have drawn legal challenges.

      >The firings at the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) come as consumer protection groups and lawmakers warn that Trump may be attempting to dismantle the entire agency.

Not surprising. Consumers will need to share information to protect each other on r/votewithyourdollar

    4. Trump is actively getting rid of all democrats, all non whites, all gay people, all non-Christian’s.

    5. If you’re a Dem in a federal role and not stealing everything (including all records and data) that’s not nailed down ahead of your guaranteed eventual firing, you’re beyond stupid.

Democrats went after him and he won. I wouldn’t expect any less from anyone. They are not his friends, he doesn’t need to play nice.

      > „Both the Constitution and the Consumer Product Safety Act grant the President authority to remove members of CPSC. President Trump has exercised this authority, and he has done so lawfully,“ Feldman wrote. „CPSC remains committed to our important safety mission: protecting American consumers from the unreasonable risk of injury associated with consumer products. The Commission will continue to carry out its duties with diligence and integrity.“

That statement just sounds like bullshit and is contradicted by this …….

      > Under the federal law governing the agency, the president can remove a commissioner „for neglect of duty or malfeasance in office but for no other cause.“

Too many gobsmacking paragraphs to quote here. I encourage anyone who’s a consumer (so EVERYONE) to read this. Basically, DOGE wanted access to the agency AND its data. Within 2 days of refusing the request, the three democratic commissioners were fired. One didn’t have confirmation that he was fired until he showed up for work today and was refused entry to the building.

      > Trumka wrote. „CPSC’s lifesaving work is far too important to take this lying down.“

It literally IS lifesaving work. CPSC protects consumers from injury/death due to unsafe products, such as toys that pose a choking hazard.Take a look at [https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls](https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls) . There’s a choking hazard recall on the front page and kids hair clips sold on Amazon that contain lead and over a million Igloo coolers recalled because they may amputate or crush your fingers. Continue to fight the good fight, Sir. I hope you and your colleagues have the best lawyers money can buy who are representing you pro bono.

Not sure why formatting isn’t working. Maybe wine :/

Fascism is going after your political opponents, minorities, and those who would stand up to you.

Incoming lawsuit. Their firing will be overturned. Wether or not they return is TBD.

I’m convinced he is working for someone to destroy the US from the top down. He hasn’t done a single thing in the interest of the country. He’s just breaking everything. It’ll take so long to fix his fuck ups.

50/50 chance he will turn around and un-fire them when he realizes that recalling unsafe products, you know, saves lives. What a joke

Chalk one up for another good-faith contract being thrown out. Americans are simply not trustworthy.
