„A Week is a long time in politics“ so four years must be an eon lets see where we all are in two years time before we give the keys to No10 to Mr Farage.
Despite the rhetoric, he isn’t the working man’s friend, and will act the same as Trump.
The issue is there is very little in the way of realistic choice, you have tory and red tory, and you have reform. Anyone else is a wasted vote.
EDIT for those blindly downvoting, name me ONE single policy that will benefit the working Brit that reform have, and I’ll maybe change my tune.
I want to see how there votes goes in the Scottish elections next year. They are above Labour in the latest polls.
He doesn’t actually want to be PM. He has soundbites not policies, and thats where he gets his money.
Treat him as a politician and not as a celebrity, question his Reform MP’s James McMurdock’s past of covering up his violent crimes, question his support for bringing Shamima Begum back into the UK and hammer on his remarks that „British muslims don’t share British values.“
As for Labour, a government that proudly and repeatedly takes away money from the most vulnerable that makes up their core supporters is of course going to plummet in the polls.
Have a change of Labour Leader, a fresh new cabinet with more working class-based goals and the polls will change sharply.
You have to wonder what sort of land cretin is still willing to vote for the tories after the state they left things.
Farage is a Russian asset.
He is also utterly scared shitless about one thing, being in power. His whole business model is to shout reteric, and talk nonsense. The moment he gets power, he won’t know what to do and also him being a fraud will be plain for the world to see.
Reform are not our future.
The people have been failed by the main two parties, and so may opt to be failed by UKIP2. We’ll have to wait and see.
My main take away from all these articles on Reform is that the media have picked their party, because Green and Lib Dems are actually doing pretty good at the moment, and in theory they’re in the race too. The media doesn’t like them though.
The people want less migration. If Starmer comes out with a plan to turn back the boats then reform have no chance.
Farage doesn’t want to be PM, and I doubt he even wants his party to be in a position to legislate. His entire schtick is crowing from the sidelines, trying to influence government policy by being a loud git they increasingly can’t (but should) ignore. You can see that any time an interviewer has a go at being an actual journalist for once and presses him for details and specifics, he goes into a tetchy huff. This is a man with soundbites, not plans.
Much like Boris Johnson, Farage being PM would be a case of the dog catching the car. Unlike Johnson, Farage is probably smart enough to know that it’s best if he doesn’t catch it. He is not a man who wants to be in a position where the buck stops with him, and quite frankly I’m not sure his finances and his Russian connections would bear the added scrutiny.

Whilst enough has been said on the need for Labour to bring down immigration, the other big priority here is to learn how to fight back. They act remarkably silent and passive and can’t ever set the narrative, even in government.
Labour needs to bring in STV voting system act of parliament for the good of the country before the party.
We need it to prevent Farage led UK government.

He will get the votes as he says he will tackle immigration and hasn’t had the chance to fail at doing so yet. If another party can offer and successfully implement real significant solutions he will lose all support, as i imagine his other policies are tolerated due to the strong immigration position.
I always thought this was inevitable once Labour was gutted as a vehicle for reform and structural change, and reverted to being a neoliberal instrument of capital.

Farage is DOMINATING the polls. Labour better get immigration under control fast, I mean 50,000 a year, or we’re going to have Prime Minister Nigel Farage in 2029!
It’s good but there’s still a rump of Conservative voters left. We really need to push „Vote Tory, Get Labour“ more and more.
But a promising direction. Labour do have a big mandate (15% of the voting population went for them) but their term is nearly 20% done now, so let’s all look forward to life after them.
Reminding his supporters he’s backed by right wing American Christian’s and wants an insurance based healthcare system might go a long way to opening eyes, I doubt even the virulent anti immigration people would give up the NHS for less immigration

People underestimate how dumb and gullible most of the UK are. Literally is painful to live here because of the lack of raw intelligence.
I think the best approach is to ignore all the reasons people are against immigration, like putting additional strain on the already struggling services and depressing wages, and chalk it all up to hating brown people. Ignoring a large chuck of the working class and assigning horrible views to them is the only way to get them to vote for the correct party.

As despressing as this news is the world kept spinning despite 14 years of torries and Brexit. I’m skeptical Reform will be able to hold this momentum all the way to the next General but at this point i wouldn’t bet against them either.
