    1. CTV’s article gave examples of some of the ballots which were counted as spoiled,

      > In at least six cases, a voter put an ‘X’ in the circle beside Kusmierczyk and a check mark on the other side of his name on the ballot.

      > Another scrutineer saw a ballot with a check mark in Kusmierczyk’s circle and the words “I vote for Irek” written on the ballot. Another wrote the word “liberal.”

      > Court learned another ballot was rejected because a check for the People’s Party of Canada candidate Nick Babic had a “tail” that moved down into the circle below.

      > Hewitt also told Justice Ross Macfarlane that in three examples, a form with the final results for WTL either didn’t include Kusmierczyk’s vote totals or were otherwise incomplete.

Election workers have to factor intent when counting ballots, it seems pretty clear cut in these examples.

Edit: Of course CBC updates their article with examples afterwards.

    2. The timelines seem rather slow for recounts. From what I understand, Elections Canada is saying they can’t run recounts simultaneously, which is why this one is happening so late(May 20), but if the riding is to flip, it leaves a rather tight time frame for the MP to get ready for parliament to resume.

And while I guess it’s less important in Windsor, there is also a decent chance Terra Nova flips, and that would require the new MP to fly out to Ottawa and set up an office, while the former MP elect has to head home. Just a whole lot of stress all around, and it would be simpler if the recount was done faster/earlier.

The stop the steal conspiracy theorist are in full force despite recounts in highly contested ridings being standard practice.
