Trump’s pick to lead the nation’s domestic intelligence and security service is a former prosecutor and political adviser who had little if any law enforcement experience when the president nominated him to head the FBI.

But instead of throwing himself into the job and trying to gain credibility with the officials he’s been tasked with leading, a dozen current and former officials at the FBI and Department of Justice said they worried Kash Patel wasn’t taking the position seriously enough.

He’s not a serious person. He’s an emotionally stunted individual. I have no background in law enforcement and if I was offered this position id turn it down because I know I am not qualified to do that job. That is what an adult does in this situation, don’t take jobs you are not qualified to do.

I think he figured out that he couldn’t just go “Arrest Joe Biden!” and then proceeded to say “fuck this job.”

    4. *For decades, the FBI chief has received an 8:30 a.m. daily “director’s brief” with the most important information gathered from thousands of agents and analysts. Patel reportedly had trouble making the morning briefing, so it was dropped from five days a week to two.*

*“Even that has been a struggle,” an unnamed official told NBC.*

      **WOW!**

    5. Trump hires people that serve him unconditionally.  Their capabilities to do their job is not his concern, but their worship is.

    6. ggaassghd677 on

Dont forget he didn’t even submit for a budget before the deadline and the required budget hearing. Couldn’t even answer when he thinks his budget would be done. True leadership

    7. It’s not like he’s there to actually do a good job; he’s there to fuck shit up.

    8. Wasn’t he all over Fox News and MAGA world bragging about how they already caught 3 of the most wanted criminals on the FBI lists, and how ineffective the Biden admin was at it? I guess it was all smoke and mirrors huh

Patel wanted to close the agency and turn it into [„a museum of the deep state.“](https://www.independent.co.uk/tv/news/donald-trump-fbi-kash-patel-deep-state-b2656895.html)

An agent of Moscow, who stole classified information and was under several FBI investigations, placed one of his most loyal stooges to sabotage the agency, not to lead it.

The following article has insight from a senior FBI agent who resigned:

[I was a Top Leader at the FBI. What I Saw This Year Was Deeply Worrying. It Should Concern You Too.](https://fbisullivan.substack.com/p/i-was-a-top-leader-at-the-fbi-what)

      >I took an oath to defend the Constitution. The unqualified leaders Donald Trump chose to lead the bureau act like they took an oath to Trump personally. What I’ve seen over the last few months is deeply concerning. A workplace that was positive is now overcome with fear. The changes imposed on the FBI by Trump, Musk and their loyal director are at odds with the mission of the FBI. While they won’t admit it, their actions are derailing the work of the FBI through chaos. After seeing it up close, I’ve concluded the chaos is the point.

Someday the conservative FBI detectives are going to discover that the leader of the FBI is a troll and is meant to stymie the federal law enforcement apparatus.

    11. Sheepish_conundrum on

Intentionally. I’m sure he was told to not worry about the budget submittal. „what are they doing to do about it“

    12. Practical-Bit9905 on

you mean the unqualified crackpot is annoying the professionals? Who’da thunk?

    13. More than any other person in this admin, he is the one I can look at and within second see how empty it is behind his eyes. Just a void of thought and character.

    14. Tough-Bear5401 on

Majority of Trump’s cabinet members are completely unqualified, crazy conspiracy theorists, or far right fake Christians with radical fascist ideations! And it’s like one hive mind being controlled by Trump! Every government department under the Trump administration is a freaking joke! The most important government entities that should be respected, and run by extremely competent individuals, like the FBI, DHS, and DOD, are a joke under this administration!
It’s been about four months of this chaos, and it feels like four years! 🤬😫

    15. Sounds like another manchild trying to live his fantasy about being „tough“.

    16. its probably best that he doesn’t get as many intelligence briefings to be honest…. anyone who are „Trump loyalists“ can’t be trusted. If he is too bored with it, then stop giving intelligence briefings to him.

      a win, win!

    17. This is why I think Trump’s coup will ultimately fail.

They’re lazy grifters. It will take hard work to overthrow the government. They appear to be allergic to any real work. It’s all lazy half measures.

    18. PeterPuck99 on

Earns a law degree (probably at the bottom of the class) from #136 of 196 ranked law schools and accomplishes little if anything professionally aside from shilling for Republicans. Polishes Trump’s ass with a ghost written book and the next thing you know he’s running the FBI when he wouldn’t be qualified to operate the MAGA gift shop at the White House or park the cars at the crypto bribe dinner.

    19. Stuff like this, and President Diapers‘ briefings, and Triple Sec Def being unable to follow his briefings had made me realize something.

Even the most incompetent and shitty people we’ve had in the past, like during the Bush administration, almost certainly had their shit together. Even the **idea** of sitting through a one-hour briefing **daily** regarding the biggest threats in granular detail sounds physically and emotionally exhausting.

These are briefings with people who have worked in their field for decades, and are trained as both lawyers and law enforcement, or military, and are probably very good at giving clear and concise briefings, but I bet they still use ten-dollar words and acronyms so much that it would make your head spin.

Now we have these talentless hacks who are too lazy to show up at 0830 – which isn’t even an unreasonable starting time for *any* job, even white-collar.

If anyone, someone who has never served in any related position should be having TWICE the briefings, because they need to learn the lingo and how the institution works.

Have they drug tested this guy? Cuz he looks like he should be getting random tests.

I heard Kash plays hockey every week. I’d love to invite him over to Minnesota to show him what real hockey players are like. Fucker can get bent.

    22. Motor_Somewhere7565 on

I knew where this tenure was going the moment I read about him bringing MMA training to the FBI, which was a part of the alpha male BS they’re trying to inject into our institutions like steroids, but won’t do any agent any good in a situation involving gunfire anyway.

If he can’t turn the FBI into a museum about the deep state like he promised he would, he’s certainly making a mockery of his post, like everyone else is in Trump 2.0

    23. Actions have consequences. They shouldn’t have puttered around when they could have investigated Trump while they had the chance.

    24. Possible-Customer827 on

Kash Patel just like every single Trump appointee, is a moronic sniveling ass kisser. There’s one reason Trump chose people who have no qualifications to fill his cabinet and I just said it. FACT!

    25. Who shows up to a budget meeting with the SENATE without a prepared budget? So so so so dumb.

    26. Straight-Ad6926 on

With friends like Kash Patel, the FBI doesn’t need enemies. He’s doing a great job of dismantling the agency from the inside out.

    27. HallucinogenicFish on

      > Two current FBI officials said Patel sometimes seems uninterested in the materials, forcing them to try to create briefs that will hold his attention.

Shades of Trump. During Mango Madness 1.0, didn’t they have to give him super short briefs with lots of pictures in them?

    28. UltravioletAfterglow on

Being profoundly stupid, self-interested and incompetent is infuriating to professional people. If only Rebublican senators had known what Kash Patel is really like before they voted confirm him.

    29. Legal-Appointment941 on

I wonder if there is a unit inside the fbi who are so disaffected by Patel that they are running an investigation of him so that when he eventually departs he will be brought up in charges.

    30. Familiar-Report-513 on

My guys, it’s not just FBI officials. I’m pretty certain at this point everyone who sees his face let’s out an audible groan.

    31. ButtEatingContest on

They should have done something about the fascists when they had the chance.

    32. I don’t think it’s just FBI officials he’s pissing off. His 2026 FBI budget proposal is overdue, Congress is asking for it and he basically told Congress to go fuck themselves.

    33. Adventurous-Host8062 on

He want hired to run the FBI, he was hired to shut it down. Trump hates law enforcement of any kind, but the FBI more than most.

    34. muffledvoice on

      From the article:

“Two current FBI officials said Patel sometimes seems uninterested in the materials, forcing them to try to create briefs that will hold his attention.”

This is what Trump’s White House staff said about Trump as well during his first term. He wouldn’t read anything and hated sitting through meetings and receiving briefings.

This is the signifying trait of MAGA from the top down. They don’t want to listen or read or learn. They only want to enforce their will and have their way.

They’re low information people chosen by low information voters and supporters in a low information cult masquerading as a political and ideological movement.

    35. Kash Patel doesn’t like briefings, so the 8:30am daily briefing is now only 2-3 times/week, and he is often late.

He doesn’t like teleconferencing, so he’s suggested his weekly meeting with other leaders of state branches be cut from once a week to once a month.

He has travelled (on taxpayers’ money) to sporting events and to see his girlfriend several times, probably more often than he teleconferences.

His official spokesperson says he is doing a great job, and his actions speak to that fact.

The official spokesperson has either been in a coma since Patel has taken the position or has his head up his ass.

Either way, he has one thing right: Patel’s actions show loud and clear his disdain for the American public *and* the FBI.
