Ich habe eine sprechende Prüfung, also möchte ich şota rostaveli vorstellen. Es gibt viele Quellen im Internet, aber ich möchte, dass Sie wissen, was wirklich georgische Leute über ihn denken und wissen

He’s our great national poet who wrote our national epic. He’s highly praised.

    2. He’s a huge part of literary culture. Comparable to Shakespeare for England, Homer for Greece, or Goethe for Germany.

He was also a very good looking fellow.

And if I may say so myself, I’ve only read the translation of vepkhis tkaosani, because old Georgian is beyond me, but the man had a way with words. It was a pleasure to dive into those verses.

    3. We absolutely idolize him and for a very good reasons you probably already heard from the sources. Not only average people but Most well known Georgian authors idolized him too.
Over the centuries of Georgian literature his work was referenced and mentioned countless times.

If Rustaveli was in 2025 his pronouns would be That/Guy. He is that guy🔥💯

I believe part of the appeal about Shota, apart from the fact that he wrote one of the greatest poems of all time hehe, is the secrecy surrounding his persona. Not much is known about him.

And his poem (The Man in the Panther’s Skin) is basiclaly the most reliable source that could attest to his personality. The poem was essentially a (master)piece of propaganda brilliantly justifying the fact that then King George III put his daughter on the throne even though his nephew was the sole, legitimate heir.

Why would he write it? Did someone commission it? If so, he could be the most genious puppet poet of all time. OR was he actually inlove with the woman who inspired Tinatin/Nestan? I guess we’ll never know.
