Raising employer side national insurance and lowering its threshold is about as dumb a tax rise can be. It deters employment, especially low-wage employment, economic growth and wage growth. Had Labour not say anything about taxes in the election, they won’t be in such a bind. Literally dug their own graves when they promised not to raise the 4 largest tax revenue.

The fiscal rules should be scrapped honestly. They clearly don’t actually help to grow the economy.

It really was worth digging the party’s grave by scrapping the winter fuel payment to meet Reeves‘ fiscal rules.

Increase personal allowance to 20k. Increase income tax by 2p in the pound. Add an additional 1p in the pound levy which goes directly towards paying off the national debt. Increase the upper rate additional tax threshold to 150k from 100k so more tax payers pay tax rather than taking salary sacrifice and paying into pension.
You can have that for free Rachel.

Rachel from complaints has been a disaster.
She’s wrecked the economy.

Why doesn’t she look across the Irish sea at Ireland? A prime example of low corporation tax inviting investment and a booming tech industry. Ireland now has a budget surplus and yet we are talking about more fiscal black holes than a science fiction movie.

Incompetent leadership from a party who were never ready to govern. The tories were useless, Labour are clueless and reform will be ruthless.

Terms and conditions of the public sector are unsustainable aligning them with the private sector would save over 12% on the states payroll bill .

Can someone tell me why we don’t tax wealth and assets? People say if you tax the rich they’ll leave, well this is true on income but not on physical assets that they would either pay more tax on or sell, someone smarter than me could hopefully explain how we would ensure these assets aren’t owned by companies so individuals aren’t just hiding them under business assets or being absorbed into business expenses, and relevant tax savings.
