      >FBI Director Kash Patel seems to be interpreting the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution how he sees fit, contradicting legal precedent.

      >At a Senate hearing Thursday, Patel was asked by Senator Jeff Merkley if people deported under the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 had the constitutional right to due process, which the Trump administration claims is not the case.

      >“Are you gonna launch an investigation of the reported violation of the due process of several hundred individuals?” Merkley asked Patel. The FBI director’s answer was not comforting, as he began by saying, “It’s not for me to call the balls and strikes on it.”

    2. „Mr. Director, What do you think the fifth Amendment means?“

      „I plead the fifth.“

Yet another blatantly incompetent (and/or evil) member of the Cheeto administration. Why even ask these fuckers questions if their answers are just fucking accepted?

    4. He essentially tries to say that denying anyone’s constitutional rights is not a crime. What a fucking asshole

He knows what the 5th is about. He will plead it in a nano-second if he has to.

Typical of Ole’ Coke Eyes Patel. Denying Due Process, which puts each case before a judge, the person who is supposed to “call balls and strikes” and then follow that up with “it’s not my job to do that”. Only way this would be more typical of Bug Eyes Patel would be if he snorted a bump while testifying and then started discoing around the table.

I have a question… This is kinda related… Will the maga crowd finally wake the fuck up and realize what’s going on when they try to attempt to take away our 2A rights?

„Hey, listen. I don’t need to know anything for this job, ok? I take my orders from Trump, and I do exactly what he says. Why do I need to know anything?“

Let’s talk about his blatant misuse of private jets for non-work travel

Ooh I wish the Dems were in control of the house.  For many reasons, obviously. But how awesome would it be to make a point to direct the sergeant-at-arms to arrest Patel for being in the US illegally.  „I have evidence right here that you are not in fact a us citizen“  Then when he argues just say that it doesnt matter what he says, nobody has any requirement to believe him.

An incompetent regime straight out of a comedy. It’ll be funny if it wasn’t terrifying.

    12. People’s individual opinions and interpretations of what laws means defeats the purpose of having them. Imagine a court case where people have their own definitions of murder, deceased, victim, perpetrator – a case could not be argued to resolution. Society functions due to some foundational agreement about what stuff means. We decide as a collective. Customisation and personalisation works for social media profiles. Not laws. Or the USA will trade law and order for anarchy which Drumf will turn into a need for martial law and dictatorship. Fix your country, USA – before you can’t.

    13. Trump paid him of in shares, so who do you think he’s loyal to the US flag or Trump.

    14. This entire administration needs to take a class on US history and the constitution

Every single administration after this should take the same class.

    15. I think the problem is that we are not presenting him the information in children’s storybook form.

    16. This asshat just like Trump literally took a fucking oath to defend The Constitution.

Did he refuse to answer on the basis that he might incriminate himself

I’d be stunned if that idiot could spell Amendment, much less describe what it says.

It’s pretty alarming that we don’t have actually qualification requirements for these positions. Most of them don’t even have degrees.
