Die grüne Energie der Reform in Lincolnshire „ist 12.200 Arbeitsplätze gefährdet“

Reform UK’s plans to obstruct green energy projects in Lincolnshire put at risk almost £1bn in local investment and more than 12,000 jobs, analysis suggests.

No 10 said it would fight any attempt by the party to dismantle or block renewable investment in the area, after its deputy leader, Richard Tice, said Reform-controlled councils and its mayors would be able to block what he called “net stupid zero” infrastructure, including solar farms, pylons and battery storage systems.

In Greater Lincolnshire, net zero industries contribute about £980m to the local economy, accounting for 12,209 jobs, according to analysis by the Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit (ECIU).

Tice said: “We will attack, we will hinder, we will delay, we will obstruct, we will put every hurdle in your way. It’s going to cost you a fortune, and you’re not going to win. So give up and go away.”

The Reform mayor for Lincolnshire, Andrea Jenkyns, as well as the county council, which is also controlled by the rightwing party, would be able to block and delay renewable projects, experts said.

Jenkyns has claimed carbon dioxide is “not pollution”, called for the “ditching” of net zero and declared that Lincolnshire will “not be a dumping ground for pylons”, as well as campaigning against solar farms.

Let em do it. Make them own their decisions. They want the fight with number 10 and they want to lose that fight.

Don’t worry, I’m sure the usual Reform bots will be along shortly to explain these job losses are actually because of *evil foreigners*, not the consequences of Reforms policies and broader ideology.

No actual analysis of where this £1bn is coming from or how you extrapolate to 12.2k jobs.

If it’s central block funding or grants from govenment or obligatory allocation of funding taken in subsidy payments on bills, then actually you could just spend that money on something else. Or indeed not raise it in tax in the first place.

For this to be a loss you’d need to show the billion only exists because of these proposed projects and otherwise its forgone growth.

What’s even more mad – And I cannot fathom why it isn’t being talked about more – Is that not only do they want to get rid of all these good jobs and this high-value industry, they want to replace it with fracking lol.

And where are they going to be fracking? In all the counties where they now seem to be getting so much support!

Like I know we’re supposed to not be doing this but it is *really* bloody hard not to get the strong impression that Reform voters are turkeys voting for Christmas.

Remove the Green Jobs from the areas voting Reform, let them face the consequences of their actions as the world leaves them behind

Always amusing when the leftwaffe band together for their anti normal people ranting and mutual reach around sessions.

They will spend countless hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions, of taxpayers money to block job-creating net zero projects. Probably against the advice of their officers. Only to have them overturned by the Planning Inspectorate.

These idiots are about to have a hard lesson in how to run a Council. My bet is that they will bankrupt them through their own incompetence.
