About god damned time you partisan hack. I hope you never get an ounce of credibility ever again.

    2. What an idiot. Thank you for yet another embarrassment to our state. Keep it up losers.

    3. Really the most important information about this situation is the repeated attempt by the GOP to eliminate tens of thousands of ballots for reasons that basically amount to „just because“ So fucking glad I don’t have to keep checking up on this bullshit now.

What are the chances his parents named him that in honor of their hero, Jefferson Davis?

    6. Big win for democracy today. Good work NC. We need to continue to stand tall against the bullshit

lol mods removed my previous comment so F you NC republicans and F MAGA

    8. This guy looks like he eats souls for breakfast. Glad this BS is finally over.

    9. I know this isn’t important, but conceding after almost a year of blatantly bad faith legal challenges funded by billionaires isn’t really conceding. This fucking guy was DEFEATED.

    10. Sorry he never conceded. That would have happened months ago. He whined like a baby, stomped his feet and refused to let it go till he was forced to by court order. He didn’t concede…he lost.

Only after a Trump-appointed judge basically accused him of criminal acts.

Because he is a fucking criminal.

      Fucking finally.

A reminder that your right to vote needs to be vigilantly protected, that your right to vote is not just the act of submitting a ballot, it’s your vote, and all votes, being fairly counted, and there will always be people trying to take that from you for their own gain.

Remember that power is more important than functional governance to the modern GOP

I’m genuinely surprised he didn’t keep appealing until they could get the corrupt supreme court to reverse the decision. I’m sad that this genuinely surprises me.

Finally! A bit of good news. I hope the NC Dems use this to demonstrate who the Republicans are and win the senate seat.

    16. Why wouldn’t they pull this?

They have zero spine and unlimited legal resources.

I’m both surprised and relieved that they finally conceded this despite how clear the victory was.

In contrast, look at this past **PRESIDENTIAL** election, where there were actually plenty of things to question. But the Democrats didn’t so much as ask for a recount.

This was a preview of the chaos of the midterms.

The effects of Trump’s policy will be felt in full force next year. Democrats will be handed the easiest platform to run on. And we will get hundreds of „disputed results“ in the process.

    18. JFC I didn’t expect the good guys to win here. Its insane how pathetic and just straight up corrupt republicans are now.

    19. It’s a big win for democracy in North Carolina today. Thank goodness this election fraud wasn’t allowed to stand – and prompted by a trump appointed judge, no less.

Savor this victory, by all means, but don’t lose sight of the fact that Rethugnicants are still working at stealing future elections… via their [years-long efforts to suppress opposition voting](https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/how-the-republican-push-to-restrict-voting-could-affect-our-elections/), by this morning’s [successful GOP takeover of the NC State Board of Elections](https://www.newsobserver.com/news/politics-government/article305896866.html), and ongoing [GOP disenfranchisement of NC voters via gerrymandering](https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/analysis-opinion/anatomy-north-carolina-gerrymander).

Make no mistake by believing that this one successful defense of voting integrity is going to bring about a return to democracy within the GOP. They know full well that they will only win future elections if they are able to successfully reserve voting rights exclusively for their own members.

He didn’t concede, he was forced to by a federal court. Also, his concession is meaningless, it’s the vote that matters, and he lost that vote.

    21. Now prosecute the people who broke laws. There must be consequences for such fuckery.

*On Monday, a conservative federal judge shut down one of the most brazen attempts at election subversion in modern American history. In a scathing decision, U.S. District Judge Richard E. Myers spurned Judge Jefferson Griffin’s bid to steal a North Carolina Supreme Court seat from Justice Allison Riggs, who narrowly won her race in November. Myers—a **Donald Trump appointee and longtime member of the Federalist Society—ruled that Griffin’s attempt to nullify thousands of lawful ballots violated North Carolinians’ constitutional rights, contravening “rudimentary requirements of equal treatment and fundamental fairness.”**  He ordered the state to certify Riggs’ victory, shutting down Griffin’s attempted theft of her seat.*

Hopefully enough armor to set some precedent.

Meanwhile, if Judge Griffin Lacks the ability to provide equal treatment and fundamental fairness, it would bring into question his judgment on any case going forward.
