    1. Setting aside the irony of Nigel Farage saying this, is he right? I work in the IT sector, and lots of companies outsource some of their tech roles to India, this deal could make that worse imo

Edit: I read more into the deal, he’s wrong

Edit again: my comment about the IT sector is probably a separate issue from the one NF is lying about

The UK “won” in terms of what we get from this trade deal, focusing on one small thing rather than the bigger picture as usual, and that one thing being race/nationalistic/immigration at its core.

      For example:

      1. UK GDP projected to increase by £4.8 billion annually by 2040.

      2. Tariffs cut on 90% of UK exports to India, with 85% becoming tariff-free within a decade.

      3. £1 billion boost expected in Scotch whisky exports.

      4. Simplified customs procedures for UK businesses.

      5. UK companies gain access to Indian public procurement markets.

      6. Enhanced digital trade provisions for smoother cross-border e-commerce.

      7. Visa allowances for UK-bound Indian professionals in niche fields.

      8. Social security exemptions for UK workers posted to India.

      9. Stronger environmental, labour, and gender equality commitments than previous Indian trade deals.

      10. Bilateral trade expected to grow by £25.5 billion by 2040.

Funny how so many people work in tech whilst also apparently the whole industry is out sourced to other countries, according to those same people.

    4. Just shows that Farage wants us to go as insular as the US is doing right now.

    5. It’s good to see the government admitting that NI is a burden/barrier regardless of the context .

I thought Nigel Farage supported discrimination, and U.K. making its own trade deals?

Anything that pisses off the Russian asset Farage will be good for UK, and therefore the world.

    8. The Labour ‚Walter Mitty Solicitor‘ Reynolds has zero credibility.

Labour now polling at 22%….Reform 29%.

I’m kind of curious what kinds of trade deals Farage would actually be able to make if he was in charge. I mean, wasn’t this the entire point of Brexit – or did he think that Britain would never have to compromise on anything?

    10. Unfortunately the truth is far too complicated for Nigel’s sheep to bother to understand. They will swallow whatever he says.

UK getting even more fucked in the coming years lol. 5 billion gdp growth after 15 years? That’s a fucking disaster. Also, the compromises are not worth 5 fucking billion. Less immigration please. Especially less indians.

He knows people won’t pour over details so easy win for smelly breath

Why don’t people actually just call out Farage and his ilk to their face?

Like genuinely, stop being fucking nice about it. The man is a weapons grade cunt. Actually have the balls to call him out properly on his bullshit. Do it publicly, live on air. Every time he lies, tell him he’s lying. Look him directly in the face and aggressively call him a lying toad.

We need to stop playing nice with his ilk.

This deal will kill white collar jobs for British graduates as it will incentivise UK companies to employ Indian migrants.

    15. So let’s get this straight, we’re giving Indian nationals working here a three year tax break from paying national insurance, and what is in it for us? India will only slap 75% tariffs on our whiskey instead of 150%?

This is going to be a certified REF+5 moment on the @BritainElects Twitter account over the coming days.

    16. Inevitable_Price7841 on

Oh, the professional contrarian takes the opposing stance as per usual because he has zero policies or strategy of his own beyond disagreeing with everything and pretending he gives a shit about poor people.

      „locks horns with“

Why the fuck isn’t this just instantly dismissed as lying bollocks? Why do we have to „lock horns“ with it?

    18. Accurate_Grocery8213 on

It does discriminate as they don’t have pay national insurance…. so can you guess which group of people, employers are going to favour, given the recent national insurance rises brought in by the Labour government….

    19. Don’t we have an agreement with the United States that prevents double taxation? Presumably it would also be reiterated in any trade deal we have with them – if it ever happens. Will Farage be criticising that, I wonder?
