    1. TLDR;

“We don’t do much business with Canada from our standpoint. They do a lot of business with us. We’re at like 4%,” Trump said.

That “4%” figure is wrong. Official US data shows that **Canada bought about 17% of US goods exports in February and March**, the last month for which data is available – more than any other country. Canada bought about 16% of US goods exports in January, second only to Mexico.“

    2. Love love love that he was instantly corrected in real time then he kind of deflated. He is a saggy sad orange balloon when he’s not surrounded by his hand picked fan club.

    3. He just doesn’t, or refuses to, understand trade. Each Canadian buys about $3,500 worth of American goods per year, far, far higher per person than an American citizen purchasing Canadian goods. Naturally you are going to have a trade deficit with most countries if they cannot produce as much as the USA, as well as the USA also being (well, it was) an economic powerhouse and consumer. They are not robbing the USA blind, the opposite is true, they are our best customer.

It’s the rich guy who never has to go to a grocery store dictating he knows what happens in a grocery store.

Also the US has a trade surplus in the auto sector yet fucker gonna fuck around.

    6. Well. It used to be. After this last few months, I’m not so sure anymore. Now it is probably Heard Island.

    7. Wait till he hears how fucked Oklahoma’s exports are now. Not that he cares… He suckered them into voting for him.

I hope everyone is having the day they voted for.

The reason why the US buys so much from Canada is because when their economy is doing well they need resources which Canada can provide. But with US going into recession, well he definitely will shrink the “deficit” but trade will be halved.

Any other US president would be gracious to even the tiniest country that was an ally.

„The American people greatly value our relationship with Tuvalu and look forward to many more years of friendship.“

The MAGA morons think that just being fake but that’s because *they* don’t believe it.

Real leaders value even the smallest contribution from an honest, sincere partner. It’s not fake to say we value Tuvalu when you lead with integrity.

Well that’s a great thing to say to the 5% that still buy American.

We’re seeing in real time why Trump went bankrupt so many times: in ability to understand facts, poor grasp on complex issues, believes he is expert on all matters, incapable of building alliances. Kim Jong Un was right….Trump is a dotard.

    15. The fuck he thinks 90% of the lumber in our hardware stores comes from? Know how many 2x are stamped with Irving’s logo? Know where a majority of that comes from?

    16. moomoomilky1 on

Trump should give us the pnw so we can have more citizens to balance out the trade deficit that would work on paper right?

    17. If they intend on isolationalism, then rejecting their closest trade partners is economic suicide.

Trump is the epitome of the rich idiot brat taken to a twisted extreme.

    19. I mean he also just said the US is saving trillions and not losing anything by not trading with China, meanwhile China somehow is being severely hurt by not trading with the US lol

His ignorance is mind boggling. Every day America’s decline and shame are on full display.

    21. Look, in fairness, he’s VERY stupid, has dementia, and lies more than rugs.

    22. LOL, we agree 🇨🇦! We are in the process of taking our business elsewhere.

Already exports to the US from Canada are dropping and Canadian exports to other countries are increasing (substantially). Same for our imports.

The Canadian dollar is doing well relative to the USD.

It is really nice to have an intelligent, knowledgeable, educated, rational, prepared, poised, calm person as our Prime Minister.
