Reading the article, the owner of the cat requested her to stop feeding the cat, but she just continued… This isn’t some occasional cat feeding lol.
Yes, it wasn’t just occasional feeding. She also had the cat in her house and adapted her cat flap so he could come for food all the time.
Since the owners had already written to her asking her to stop before I guess they had no other option.
I have been known to occasionally give a small treat to lonely looking cats. Glad to read that’s not illegal!

I‘ve witnessed such a dispute between an elderly women living across the street and a cat owner. The woman had been feeding the cat every day for at least a year. While I understand she surely came from a good place, you don‘t know what medical diets or restrictions the cat might be on and the owner is trying to adhere to. You also wouldn’t feed a stranger’s kid. I‘d also find it frustrating. People can just get their own cats, there‘s plenty of them in shelters waiting for cuddles and care!
