I believe there’ll be a permanent division between us and Anatolians from now on. Maybe some of the Kemalists will see the light but a lot of them believe that they’re still 100% justified and we shouldn’t complain.
If we ever get the chance we should completely end immigration from Turkey and start evaluating the citizenships of the mainland Turks here, maybe start cancelling them until TCs are the majority again.

Well, Erdogan isn’t going to be saying that the protests will be successful, even if he thinks they will be.
In short, my interpretation is the scarf is being used as a tool to dominate & divide Tr Cypriots, to stir up things. In fact there’s no issue with the scarf, the issue is minors being covered in scarves and the insistence of Turkey that this is an assault on democracy if not permitted. This has infuriated secular Tr Cypriots who finally are able to grasp the extent of interference they are exposed to. On the other hand, the topic of money laundering, huge illegal entities where huge amounts of money derived from online illegal betting activities in the North, and how it’s distributed is not being discussed. We see avoidance of talking and getting transparency regarding this topic as there are allegations senior members of the Turkish government are involved.
