      True. Social media is honestly ushering us into a new level of delusion and insanity as a society.

      I don’t know if people are ready to hear this though, the common response when people attempt to take on social media is to deflect and distract.

      Social media is a cancer and kids should avoid it like the plague. It’s crazy when you think about how many kids are using this site. You get into an argument with someone about capitalism vs socialism and then realize you are arguing with a teenager who is confidently stating they know how the global economy should operate because a twitch streamer told them so.

      I’m not sure the academic evidence on social media harms us quite as strong as the public hysteria atm

      Social media is just a tool, there’s been „toxic tidal waves“ way before all of this. Yet another person diverting attention from actual issues and many here are happy to eat this up.

      I’m more worried about 50+ year old adults who are folly for disinformation on Facebook, they are regressing the country.
