Very sad to see. Our greatest accomplishments are being torn apart before our eyes.
There’s still hope that Congress will defend Artemis and come up with a different budget in the end. These guys saved SLS from cancellation 3 times, let’s see what they can do now.
Don’t forget that the budget proposed by the White House doesn’t necessarily mean anything – Congress will present its own budget sometime in the fall, and that’s the budget that will be implemented.
And that $6 billion is going to develop Musk’s new launch facility just „approved“ in Texas.

Is the budget cut for NASA as a whole, Artemis program in general, or just SLS? If it’s targeting SLS specifically then this is the first sane decision that this administration has made so far.
To be fair, SLS has to be canceled at this point. It’s very obviously a failure. I don’t think NASA funding should be cut in general, rather it should be repurposed. SLS just gave all parties involved a bad taste in their mouth.
I fell bad for all those workers that didn’t vote for this.
