      ~~Of course Trump is going to make it seem the parade is for HIM, and I’m sure he’ll make sure to make it even „bigger“ to boost his big, fat ego!~~ OR, as someone mentioned, it’s the other way around!!

      I thought maga was at their breaking point with gas and grocery prices? With a broken stock market? Now Trump is telling us “we need our medicine”, that there is an unspecified period of hardship coming up, and to buy less for your kids – and now he’s planning a military parade? We don’t need a fucking military parade right now. Our military is incredible, we don’t need to show it off.

      And then lining it up with his birthday. Just get absolutely fucked.

      I really don’t understand all the criticism of this. Does no one here appreciate just how much military pomp and pageantry are guaranteed to bring down the price of eggs?

      This is actually what dictators do. We are literally going to waste thousands maybe even millions, just so trump can feel like a special boy. Just think about how much coordination, planning, and training that will need to go into this. I mean those poor enlisted are going to waste so much time at the motor pool practicing marching.

      The hilarious part about this is the pavement isn’t suited for the treads of heavy military vehicles. So. Any of them participating will have to just be carried on flatbed trucks. Or, they’d completely destroy the street.

      I’m from a prior Soviet nation. This is the most backwards shit I’ve ever seen. I also served in the US military and I can tell ya the people I spent time with in the desert for those months wouldn’t be cool with this shit
