Uh, most of us reading this don’t need more furious. We need strategies.

    2. America’s federal public lands are truly unique, part of our birthright as citizens. No other country in the world has such a system.

But during the first 100 days of President Donald Trump’s second term, those lands have come under relentless attack. Despite broad, bipartisan public support for protecting public lands, the administration and its allies in Congress are looking to boost and fast-track drilling, mining, and logging across the federal estate — both for housing development and to help offset tax and spending cuts.

This is “probably the most significant moment since the Reagan administration in terms of privatization,” as one expert put it.

    3. I don’t think most people realize how lucky they are that we have the amount of public land that we do. Imagine not being able to do anything outdoors related without knowing and or paying the billionaire who bought the national park or public land in your area.

That’s if they are not closed for logging or oil drilling or turned into strip malls and suburbs.

It does but since Congress has stopped working, nothing is going to happen. It is like shouting into the void.

    5. Trump’s version of the song “This land is my land” doesn’t have the second bar

I have a trip planned this fall to hike through the Grand Canyon, and it might just straight up be cancelled depending on if it’s even open this year.

He’s going to sell off our national parks for profit. That’s their plan.

Relax. DJT and the billionaire class need a place to build their freedom cities. It will require a lot of space and resources. Every American will benefit, except the non-billionaires.

There is an important distinction to be made here. He won’t be „selling them off“. He’ll be giving them away in exchange for favors, loyalty, and bribes.

    9. Reagan was like minded. I remember Interior Secretary Watt in this context.

Among other things Reagan wanted to sell the Hoover Dam. He was foiled in that attempt, and the dam has continued to turn over revenue (from generating hydroelectric power) to the national treasury from that day to this. It is a real asset of the American people.

Republicans have been going after public lands and the resources in them, as well as assets like power generating dams for a long, long time.

This gang is different though. They are using the Russian model. When Russia turned to a free market economy, political insiders and people connected to the mob had the inside track to take over public assets for a fraction of their true value. Government functionaries (judges and clerks) who were responsible for the process and objected to what was happening had their lives threatened. Thugs would pay a visit.

Trump has always admired how the Russian mobsters and criminals pulled it all off, he got to know them and benefitted handsomely by the association, laundering immense amounts of their wealth for them and securing investment loans from well heeled Russian oligarchs when the legitimate banks turned him down.

Trump knows the opportunity before him, he has studied it, he knows what can be done here and pretty much how to do it. THAT is what we are up against, the raping and pillaging of the United States of America.

What trump and his cronies are doing to America reminds me of what the corporate raiders of the 1980s did.

They would buy a big company, saddle it with debt, lay off workers, sell off profitable pieces of the company for cash, pay all the cash out to themselves as dividends, and then let the rump of the company go bankrupt and hand over the pension obligations to the federal government.

The English language doesn’t have a word for how I feel to see what’s happening to my country…

    12. It’s not his to sell.

      It’s ours.

I don’t think this guy understands public service.

    13. Democrats need to make it 100% clear to any prospective buyers seeking to privatize our public land that the government *will* be expropriating every inch of it back through eminent domain at the very first opportunity –and at a very steep discount.

Everything Mandarin Mussolini does should make people furious. He’s a fascist like his hero, Hitler, and owner, Putin.

If someone wants to buy Mount Rushmore and bulldoze it for a shopping mall, I’d be fine with it.

We’ll need to tell people that we’re going to take it back after this term.
