So it went pretty quickly from „heroin is ruining our communities and it’s all Biden’s fault“ to „let them die from OD’s.“

It’s like republicans go out of their way to maximize misery, pain, and suffering in our society…

He wants people to turn to spiritual healing. Probably to the worm god, as his parasite demands he proselytize its wriggly teachings.

What could go wrong with appointing a conspiracy-theorist dope fiend to manage the country’s health and well-being? Perhaps countless people will die or be permanently disfigured by his troll policies based on things he found on 4chan posts or Infowars, but for those of us who won’t die an agonizing death from a preventable disease or live out our days in an iron lung, isn’t it worth it to be so healthy that every time we get a small cold it might end up being fatal like in the old days?

      > Despite his own history of overcoming heroin addiction, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is backing plans to end a federal Narcan distribution program credited with helping drive a steep drop in U.S. overdose deaths.

      > Speaking at the Illicit Drug Summit in Nashville on Thursday, Kennedy reflected on his personal struggle with addiction and emphasized the importance of community, treatment, and hope in solving the drug crisis

      what a fucking hypocrite

They want addicts to die because they don’t view them as worthy members of their society. These people are depraved, they have twisted minds.

    7. Financial-Special766 on

Let’s be perfectly clear. These people either want us sick or on death’s door because it rakes in a profit for them.

    8. NoReserve7293 on

I’m sure he could afford Narcan if his brain worm ever developed an addiction.

This administration doesn’t care about people. Not even you. Your discontent was just a tool to disenfranchise yourselves. Figure it out, rural Americans.

Because of his past heroin addiction.

He hates this fact about himself and he wants to take it out on others. Just like anti-gay closeted politicians.

    11. You say you care about people getting addicted to drugs and putting tariffs on goods from Mexico and Canada to stop the flow of drugs.

The fact that you’re ending the narcan program proves that’s a lie.

Ah yes, another boomer who benefitted from something they’re now against and cutting for future generations.

      See: Mitch McConnell and polio

Isnt this contrary to trumps fake fentanyl concern? Like if you gave a f about those deaths… wouldnt narcan be a tool to fight those deaths?

Man these guys think everyone is dumb…. Or they are really this dumb…

What further evidence do you need that he is a self absorbed entitled prick who is incapable of having the public interest as his foremost motivation, or any motivation for that matter. The new Dr Mengele.

This is not hypocrisy on his part. His position, stated clearly, is that **working** and **poor** addicts should die. The servants of rich addicts like him will have Narcan on tap in the mansion.

    16. A lot of this is logical if you think about it.

These programs only help the less fortunate. The wealthy have access to whatever they need to get treated.

This is working as they intend. The rich will continue to recieve whatever care they need (because they can afford it), but the rest of us are on our own.

Because this is their playbook: „I got what I needed. Fuck everyone else.“

Yet another objectively good and empirically successful Biden-Harris program has been terminated. While this might be done by the demented fascist oligarchs, don’t forget that the people in this country empowered them by not voting for VP Harris.

    18. If „fuck you I got mine“ was a person.

They want more addicts because A, they want drug addicts to die because they don’t view them as people and B, they need addicts to exist because they need more scapegoats for their base to hate.

    19. reject_fascism on

Republicans want to kill as many Americans as possible. Check any of their policies.

    20. I live in Trump country, a lot of people hate Narcan. They look at addicts as junkies who should die, rather than human beings who should be helped.

    21. NerdyBrando on

What are the benefits of ending this program? Nothing this administration is doing makes sense.

    22. IdahoDuncan on

Christ. But all the republicans that were so concerned w lost of lives from the fentanyl crisis will have nothing to say on this.

      Cruelty is the point.

    23. I work at a substance use clinic.

This is going to cost thousands of lives, you guys do not know how fucking critical this is.

      God. Fucking. Damn. It.

    24. People are going to die. But yeah, let’s save some money. These people are making me sick

    25. ACasualRead on

I’m trained on Narcan. My city offered free training lessons and I figured it was something to do on a random weekend.

The amount of drugs that are being laced are incredibly high. It’s so bad that the trainers are even working with restaurants and bars in the area to help them keep Narcan stocked behind the counters in case someone goes into an overdose while there.

Why would they want to cut programs like this that quite literally are saving lives while waiting for EMS to arrive? This is as confusing as if someone said they wanted to remove all AEDs or fire extinguishers from public locations.

Death is the driving factor here. They want more death.

    26. I suppose he wouldn’t be a boomer if he didn’t pull up the ladder behind him.

    27. Trump wants more people to die from fentanyl overdoses so he can justify more draconian measures to “stop the flow of fentanyl into the country.”
