Doesn’t seem like a great idea. Eventually, it would go into meltdown after being bombarded by space debris; then you have to deal with it leaking into the global atmosphere.

Is distributing heat really going to be an issue? I would think that cooling will be necessary instead.

Uncertainty and tension in the news regarding China wanting to claim a territory on the moon on the basis of science and research.
Orbital weapons/defense systems being tested and rolled out in large scale testing and production environments
Nuclear power plant built on the moon? I can imagine just how much „security“ they need, not to mention just how much space they can tape off and forbid anyone else from entering.
As far as I remember, the moon has a ton of silicon and calcium, not really sure what the main commercial and industrial uses are for it in today’s world, but having an over-abundance of a certain resource is never a bad thing.
I’m not trying to suggest one thing or another, this is all part of a bigger picture that is being thought up in a national scale on a generational timeline that one of me can’t really decipher, but we all know from history that China really likes to say you can’t do that or you can’t go there for the sake of exerting control or making a gain.
I mean, NASA is planning to build one on Mars, and that may very well build on the Moon too.
In the old days this would spur American innovation and huge investments but now ehhh more interested in tax cuts and giving billionaires more billions.
