What ICE is stating makes NO SENSE. It defies commom sense. According to them he approached them stating he was an ILLEGAL alien from Mexico, how is anyone supposed to believe this BS?

Evidently, it’s incredibly easy to lie to people who don’t want the truth.
This article does a good job of summarizing what happened and the thing that stands out to me the most is that this vulnerable young man, who had just recovered from a medical condition, did exactly what many of us are taught as children. He approached a government official for help. But, instead of getting assistance, he was treated as a liar and a criminal based on the unforgivable crime of appearing like a “foreigner” (i.e., for being Latino in the USA).
ICE was created in 2003. America existed just fine for 227 years without it. I think America would be better off if it spent the next couple centuries without it.
I’m not religious, and don’t believe in ’supernatural‘ good or evil. But this is **evil**. We are going through an absolutely shameful episode of our history.

Never answer anything a cop asks. Hand them the documents, license, insurance, registration. You should always have these readily available to make it quick. When the cop asks do you know why I stopped you. Don’t get sassy. Just say „no“. Do not explain anything. Do not justify, say where you are going, or where you came from. Just stare at them. Every thing you say will be written down later, or captured by a camera. If they really push, say, I would be happy to have a discussion with my lawyer present. They will make things a pain, and take time.
When, if, we get back to normal again federal government agencies and employees will have to go through some type of re orientation to re learn what is right and wrong again.
The agents are just taking their cue from Trump lying all the time and this is the problem when the rot and corruption is at the top and trickles down.
Honestly the US are going to take years to recover from Trump and his goons even if they survive the next three years nine months…👍
I have a Chinese National friend who has a Canadian visa and was in the process of getting a US resident visa. I’m no sure what his status was at the time. He had been in the US already for some time. His family was moved over. Chinese are required to pay thousands of dollars to come over and bring their families.
He went to Canada stayed a few days and was coming back and they got him at that border. Canada/WA state border. They took him to the ICE detention center in Tacoma and he was there for almost a year. He got a lawyer for 10,000.00 and was able to get out. He’d still be there or deported if he hadn’t had the resources to pay to get out. They impounded his car…had to pay a hefty fine to get it back. His English is about a c level. My Chinese is zero. We can and do communicate. He and others are being preyed upon by the US.

These are shit people
I’ve never seen an ice incident report that is fully accurate. They’re always wrong. Theyre prepared for litigation. They’re unsworn. They’re pure hearsay. But immigration courts use them like they’re the gospel truth, especially in the 5th circuit.
This is the third story I have heard this week where a U.S. citizen arrested was said to have said that they „entered the U.S. illegally“. In every case, the person arrested refuted that statement. Is there any consequence for police lying on arrest documentation? Do they not have body cams to verify the claim?
This man was a citizen and was detained for almost two weeks because he had a seizure and didn’t have his state ID. Stories like this are why we have due process and why it’s needed smh.

The key here is that we’re talking about for profit detention centres.
Can’t the people getting falsely detained lawyer up and sue?
Does ICE even have jurisdiction over American citizens? Isn’t this legally kidnapping?
So how soon until we „accidentally“ deport someone born in the US to El Salvador and „lose“ them, only to not find them until after they’re dead?
